This is a junk room that desperately wanted to be reclaimed back into its original purpose: a craft room. There's more dog hair in this room than I've seen in a long, long time. The vacuuming is pretty crazy.

omg, I have a room like this too. It's a smallest spare bedroom. Started out great and only used as a large 'walk-in closet'. Kept it super clean and organized with no problem. Then after inviting a woman into our home to inspect our roof after a storm for damage, husband brings his small ladder into this room's closet so she can access the attic. He left it there and left a mess in the closet after she does the inspection. Well, months went by and husband still hasn't removed the ladder and cleaned the mess. I waited, gave up. The room is now full of clothes and disorganized to the max. I hate the room now. BUT, this video inspired me to get the job done.

Kate, I understand depression and mess. What helps me is to make one thing that needs to be done a habit like laundry or dishes. If I am not motivated to work on something on the list of things to do, then I will clean something else. I am happy with what I got done even though I wish I had more done. Sometimes things take longer to do than expected. I have to stop the negative self talk because I have made much cleaning progress lately. Eventually the habits and progress will add up, and that is rewarding and motivating.

I’ve been in educational testing for years and have come to believe that we all have some type or symptoms of disorders or syndromes. I definitely see “shadow” symptoms in myself because order, repetitive actions (especially replayed to cleaning and organizing) tend to relax me and make my life calmer. Neurodiversity is really a wonderful thing though. What a boring world it would be if we were all alike. I believe we’re all here for a purpose…and what a wonderful contribution you’re making in helping so many with your particular talents. Your expertise and kindness is doing much good.

I hate them particularly this type, because they make a high pitched whine that cuts right through my head, I had to turn the audio off cos it was getting me. Im the same with polystyrene, I can hear the high pitched squeek it makes and it makes me shudder. Cat scarers do the same thing. Im 36 and should not be able to hear these things still, but I can and it drives me crazy.

In our area if we have furniture or things that still have use, we set them on our curb with a free sign. It is usually gone that same day. Then it doesn't go to the dump and someone else can use it. We also have a Facebook page that is for our two small towns. They tell what it is and say curb alert. Sometimes there is a race to pick things up.

I’m 70 and this is something I‘be been concerned about, too; especially in the last couple of years. I decluttered hard-core for 3 months about six months ago. I got about half the house done and got so thoroughly sick of the job that I haven’t done anything more since then. Trying to get my motivation back so I can finish the job! On the plus side - the areas I have already done have stayed done. Likely because I don’t have a houseful of kids & pets anymore!

I think everything about this channel & how you approach the world is just about the best thing EVER! I don’t really quite have the right words to explain just how much it resembles me & is therefore very relatable in a world where that is definitely the exception & not the norm. 🤗 One small item of concern. I’m also an autistic person & I LOVE vacuuming because it calms my hyper-active mind. I also like cleaning & fixing vacuums. As the canister got fuller & the motor got higher pitched due to the strain put on the vacuum’s suctioning capabilities, I got increasingly anxious (not your fault of course, just MY thing) When the canister gets full like that it is SUPER helpful to clean it before continuing, even tho it can be kind of a pain. You will love the effect, I promise & the vacuum will last much longer. Thanks for all the fab cleaning content AND a rare opportunity in this world to witness how everybody wins when everybody wins! 🙏🏼🕊️

This reminds me of my partner's music room. Except he does not have a dog. Rule number one, for any kind of such room (hobby, music etc) get yourself shelving, more than you think you will need (not nearly enough in the room you showed us). Two reasons. 1- of course you can put stuff away=vertical storage and you can see everything. 2-If you, like my partner or the owner of the room featured today, are a believer in horizontal storage=the floor, you end up with a room where you can't move, moreover, finding anything becomes a chore; bending, digging, so you give up and the mess accumulates. little trolleys on wheels that fit undere the table (maximum possible height) are very useful. My, that carpet was minging! It needed shampooing really, but you did a fantastic job.

I need a craft room, right now it’s only a craft closet 😂, on second thought better keep it as a closet, I can see myself getting out of hand with the amount of yarn I would buy

I used to love doing pattern vacuuming at my house cleaning job. Up until I worn the cartilage off my tibia and pooched out a disc. Thanks for the vicarious thrill.

@@MidwestMagicCleaning Any chance you could provide the model? It appears to be a Hoover but I couldn't find online what appeared to be the one you were using. Thanks so much!

This lady sounds super talented. I can’t wait to see how this room gets used! I’m autistic too but actually can’t stand the sound of vacuums- like the smell though. I’m really excited to see the loom and resin stuff- I do similar crafts.

Great job, the only thing different I would suggest is have that gal get rid of the cardboard boxes and put her stuff in clear containers so she can see what she has without having to tear apart the entire room looking for one item. I also have a craft room
