The new and old models are both great! I have both and have been painting them for the past couple of years when the expansions come out, and I’ve been subjecting my 16 and 10 year olds to it. They’ve been having fun despite themselves. @midwinterminis when are you going to play it with your twins?

I want to thank you for these videos. I want to paint my own copy of HeroQuest when I'm able to get around to it and your videos make the daunting task seem much simpler and easier. Your specific choices of colors on these minis are incredibly inspiring and get me thinking about how I can paint my own minis! I especially love the faded bronze you've chosen for the metallic bits. It looks phenomenal. Please keep up the great work!

I painted 30 skeletons back in Sporktober. They were the models from Wargames Atlantic, so they had no tattered clothing or armor. Making the painting process really fast. It was just bone, brown for some wood bits on the equipment, and bronze for the metallic bits. I added a few embellishments, like stippling red on the spear shafts and bows, to look like old, chipping paint. And a wash of blue-green over the metallics, for a verdigris effect.

Your videos, combined with good prices on amazon for black friday actually inspired me to buy the game. While I'm not new to painting, I'll definitely have another look at these videos when I get around to painting and playing when the kids are a bit older. So thank you very much for taking on these projects that probably bring in less views than 40k-based content.

I'm in my 20s now but played so much Hero Quest with my dad when I was very little - I've just bought the re-release of Hero Quest, and also bought the expansion coming out on Jan 1st which I'm SO excited for!! Your tutorials are such an AMAZING help, I'm very nervous to ruin anything I own, but with these tutorials, I actually have hope and may paint the models to show my dad and play with them!!

I love the paint job but that armor just looks like dirty gold not really corroded metal but I found a really good way to get realistic corroded metal I used it on the robot and waforged minis i had base coat the metal in dull silver then dry brush on army painter rough iron and gunmetal let that dry then mix the gunmetal with a drop of the iron and do a very light dry brush near the edges then highlight with silver in some areas where it has been scratched

I would recommend to use the varnish before painting the metal and leave the metal as the last step. You lose the metallic effect when you use matt varnish over it. Metallic paint is durable enough to be left unvarnished.

Honestly, I just do Wraith Bone, then just schlop on Skeleton Hoard Constrast. Cleaner than drybrushing (as it doesn’t leave a texture), but stupid fast, and gives that dry, sepia color that bones turn.
