My planner system stayed the same...mostly because I'm not a "big stack" sorta girl. I have two books (the sterling ink common planner & a blank a6 notebook). The monthly and weekly in the common planner basically logs my days, meetings, vacations, packages, appointments and the blank pages in the back is what I use as my reading journal for the year. It really works for me. My A6 notebook is a companion and is where my work notes go.

Hi Ellie! An idea: Maybe you can move the 1 sticker a day to the 5 year journal and write about the experiences in the little space for that day? Idk, it came to my mind since it can avoid redundancy and also create the routine you need? ~ Send you warm hugs from Argentina

Hi Micaela! Ooooooh that is *such* a good idea - I’ve never even considered that! I’m going to think about it and maybe we’ll see even more changes this year. 🤔😄 Thank you for watching!

You can search for journal prompts, and use those in the 5 year techo. It would be fun looking back how you answer the same question year by year. ☺️

Oooh that’s a lovely suggestion, thank you!! It would be really fun to see my thoughts about the same topics over the years. 🥰

I love the idea of transcribing just the 1st chapter of favorite books. Much less daunting than an entire novel. ❤

That’s exactly what I love about it too!! It’s really satisfying to finish one chapter and then choose the next book (and ink and pen 😁). Thank you for watching!

i tend to put news and current events in my 5 year so i am not just writing the same thing all the time! I will do about a week at a time, write in things personally that i want to and then either look up local (or depending on the event national, international news) and fill in other info. Like Mr. Trump's recent indictments 😂

Hi Ellie, first time commenting, I usually just watch and hide in the shadows. I've binge watched all the videos for this year to see if I wanted to subscribe and I'm so happy that I have. You're videos are very calming and I really enjoy your content as well. I started the year in personal rings and after the first few weeks I absolutely hated it because I couldn't find a good way to archive the pages. And the planner just kept getting thicker and thicker because I'm a heavy journaler. So, in March I moved to an A5 Leuchtturm. I really enjoyed bullet journaling but I filled a full A5 for March-April, and I'm about to fill a second A5 from May-June. Two months in a bullet journal with journaling is not cost effective and the books are lining up on my shelf. So, starting in July I'm going to try a two book system. I purchased the dated half-year B6 Common Planner from Sterling Ink because it offers some form and function, but also allows me to bullet journal in the back - but just bullet journal. I have another A5 Leuchtturm and an A5 Stalogy that I have in my stash that I will use as the journalling portion of my practice until they run out. If this works, then next year I will also purchase the dated B6 Common Planner, but in the full year, and I'll journal in one of Sterling Inks larger page count A6 notebooks (I have a cute cover that I'll pull out of storage). I love the paper and the minimal design. I use the journalling for my mental health and share it with my therapist. But enough rambling. Thank you for sharing your content. I appreciate you :)

Hi there! Thank you so much for the kind words, I truly appreciate them. 💛 It sounds as though you’ve figured out what you need and want in your journaling and planning, which I usually find is the hardest part. I’ve been able to see the Common Planner in person (a couple of my friends use it!) and I agree: it’s such a lovely planner and design. Planners that offer both structure and flexibility are definitely my preference at the moment - it’s the best of both worlds! I hope that you enjoy trying something new for the second half of 2023 and that it is as good a fit as it sounds. 🥰

For the 5-year journal is to capture signatures or handwriting from family members. My grandma passed away last year and I found her Christmas card she sent me the year before. So that would be nice to talk in there. I could copy it and put it in as a photo or tape it in. But maybe that would help it to be less redundant. As people have

Hi Ellie! I loved seeing your updated system and seeing a little flip through your first chapters book! It is so beautiful to look at your handwriting, I would smear everything because of the way I hold my pen 😂 I bought a common planner (the first release) but I can’t seem to get into it. It’s my first time with Tomoe River paper, so I enjoy using my Pilot Kakuno fountain pen. But I don’t reach for it…ever. LOL. I also bought the sweet freckles designs weeks and thank goodness it’s undated because I haven’t touched that either. I also bought the 2023 dates Travelers Factory passport weekly. I think I’m intimidated by them. I’m used to using a random planner from target and a bullet journal. Now that I’m out of school I am totally confused on what I need hahaha. Right now I’m using a pocket graph notebook from Laconic as a place to note tasks and lists. I really want to try the Paper Tess Designs Yearly Notebook or the Wonderland222 after watching you use both. We’ll see 🤷🏻😂

Thank you for watching and for sharing! It sounds as though you’ve picked up some great planners to try (or not 🤷🏻♀️). I’m glad that you have a system that’s working for you at the moment, and you can always adjust if or when you need to! I’ve been really happy with both the Wonderland222 and the Papertess Designs, although they do both have tomoe river paper, so if you’re not enjoying that they may not be the best fit. Luckily we still have a lot of time before we have to make 2024 decisions!! 😅😂

To me it makes sense if someone feels more free to plan/jot doen notes on a very random and inexpensive planner which is very generic! It's freeing that the design is not very aesthetically pleasing so it doesn't distract you!!! So if what you jave used so far worked, continue with it. I do something similar however I still buy other planners because I like having them around me ---but more times than not, I end up using them in another year and for memory keeping/deco purposes, not for planning 😊

This is such a sweet lineup. I have the 5 year journal as well and like you said it feels a bit redundant so im not consistent. I did consider what someone else said about the sticker a day, but haven't done it. It would be cute! I may have to reconsider!
@elliescorner2019 Жыл бұрын
Thank you, Monique! 😊 Ah, so you understand exactly where I’m coming from with the 5 year journal!! I’ve actually never considered using stickers (maybe I was afraid of bulking it up?) but I’m at the point where I am all for whatever gets me in there consistently. 😆

@Ellie’s Corner I absolutely understand. I just got it this year and I think I have about 5 entries in it so far, but I'm trying to give myself some grace and if I use it I use it.

@@elliescorner2019 lol it didn't work for me either this year - for a variety of reasons!😄 I did enjoy going back to the pre-work questions across the 6 categories and kinda keeping them in the back of my mind... One thing i learned - for that size and kind of planner, i definitely need the wire O binding (mine is the book-bound one).
@elliescorner2019 Жыл бұрын
@@hindenburg2006 Oooh yes, it’s a thick planner - the bound version must have been tough! I think your approach is likely what I’ll do too - revisit the sections I have filled out, reread the parts that come with the planner, and try to be intentional, even if I never fill any more sections in.

I think it's the graphic design of the Take a note planner (as with some other planners) that is too aesthetically pleasing and standalone as a design that in a way it forces you to try and be very particular on how you write inside the design. The paper tess that you are using instead for example, to me, while the design is beautiful it is not "standalone", it's like something it calls for your contribution for the design to be complete... 🤔🤔🤔 I think ... Not sure, lol, just a thought
@elliescorner2019 Жыл бұрын
That makes a lot of sense! Although the TAN is beautiful, I did feel restricted by the structure - like I could only see myself using it in a couple of ways. With the Papertess I’m filling up blank pages which is so freeing. 🥰 Thank you for sharing and for watching!
