Thank you for this video! 8:11 The "Rube Goldberg" cable rolling mechanism broke twice; once under warranty, and then again out of warranty. A small part broke off, causing the brake not to engage, so it would always pull in the cable. With a bit of putty on one of those white plastic parts, I could prevent it to latch in the brake-off position. Now I have to keep the button pressed to roll up the cable.

it wasn't clear what you put in the dishwasher.. assuming you didn't put the motor or cord rewind.. but you washed the body with wires and contacts? with the sensor for when the bag is full? is corrosion an issue from getting the metal parts wet?

I recently picked up a non-working s6 miele onyx that was pretty thrashed by lady who runs wedding venues. I was able to get it working again by replacing the motor triac and deep deep deep clean. It was ran without a bag along with no pre-motor filter for an unspecified amount of time, so far i really like it. I was wondering what that plug near the handle was for, does any miele power hose work with it or is there a particular attachments that only work with this model line?

Great video. I always enjoy watching you make these vacuums look brand new. Especially enjoyed this one because my first Miele was a C2. Wonderful vacuum. They are built like tanks.

Great video. You didn't mention how to fix the power toggle. I have an S2181 Titan with a broken toggle. Miele does not lists part numbers nor any place to buy parts .... Mine is out of warranty.

The grand old Miele. Great job mate. If possible do you have or could get a Hoover Dial A Matic? I just got one and would love to give it some TLC. I want to take it all apart and clean all it’s jiggly bits. Thanks for the video mate.

l'ho usato per pulire il filtro basso di un asciugatrice. mi sono accorto che c'era poca acqua stagnante e ho fermato immediatamente. nessun danno, tutto pulito, ma adesso puzza. l'aria che esce ha un cattivo odore. Ho cambiato sacchi e filtro, e profumato l'interno ma ancora un pò di cattivo odore. cosa suggerisci? se smonto e profumo tutto?

@@Homepage. i had dryed the few Little water insider the bag compartment. Luckly,the water was stopper before engine. I dryed everything, and i keep the miele opened exposed to air. Then i changed all filter and bag, and put inside a parfum paper i use in the wardrobe. I put One bottom the bag. Now its all ok

Insulation under the motor was not restored to the original position, annoyed the hell out of me. Lost some respect since you did not take the time to review it's original position and rectify it. Pre-photos when taking something apart is invaluable to proper reassembly.

I work for a cleaning company and we use miele c1's and we haven't had any issues in years. Keep in mind there being used in commercial environments for 7 hours every day and I've only replaced the on off switch problem and added a new cord other then that they have held up amazingly.
