In this video I unbox and take a first look at a new Miele Classic C1 Ecoline vacuum cleaner.
The C1 Classic range are Miele's entry level vacuum cleaners, designed for people with smaller homes or as a second cleaner for larger homes.

Awe! Daisy, you're welcome ANYTIME!!! The metal strip also prevents dust from accumulating on the outsides of plastic parts during the back & forth motion of cleaning. I especially like the telescoping wand! Have been using an old (70s model) Hoover Swingette (purchased new-old-stock) that has an aluminum tele-wand. I extend and retract as it's needed when I'm cleaning pet fur from the quilt on our bed. I have the 1200w version; don't need much more than just the floor brush since I have braided rugs, hardwood and tile in the usual places. Haven't had to use any but the lower two motor settings on this vacuum. Very happy with my purchase, $249 in the states, 'Classic C1 Powerline Limited Edition' full-sized canister in charcoal gray...

My first ever Miele was a red S2 Contour (Canadian model) similar to this cleaner. It was on sale at Canadian Tire in Montreal for CAD$350, and included this fantastic AirTeq carpet nozzle plus a mini turbo nozzle. I loved it so much I bought a Miele S8 only a year later to get a longer hose and cord and wand. I love the rubber bumper on the AirTeq nozzle, and the toggle pedals for the brush are very easy to use. My only caveat: Miele canister wheels are too small to easily run over its own cord/cable on a bare floor. :-)

We're watching this because my son just purchased his first miele- a toy c1 powerline. Isn't it said that imitation is the sincerest form of flattery? He's following your lead as best he can Roger, this toy obviously doesn't function the same and doesn't have attachments but surprisingly it has the casters.

Yes, I have a Kenmore canister, and a lot of the parts are interchangeable with Miele and Panasonic. Not sure if it’s still that way since the vacuum is 20 years old. I wouldn’t be surprised if Sears was rebranding their products.

Hi Roger I have the C1 Junior Powerline version of this in a lovely red colour, unfortunately it has picked up a few scuffs and scratches on the top of the casing, nothing deep though- I was wondering whether you know of any product that I can apply to get rid of these? I was going to try a plastic polishing compound but am wary of making it look worse.

Heavy, not overly mobile, gets stuck on the corners, loud, dust filters almost usless (dust&bad smell) and useless against hair (you have to buy an extra pricey part for that). Only plus is the strength, it doesn't lose power as the bag gets fuller. Never again thanks.
