Now that I had my wishlist, I ordered one bagless vacuum model from each brand. From Dyson, we bought the Dyson Big Ball Multifloor Canister Vacuum at $399.
For the Miele, we opted for the CX1 Electro+, as it was the cheapest model to come with a rotary brush head for carpeting. At $799, it was twice the price of the Dyson.
Each was shipped via UPS in their respective manufacturers boxes and both made the journey without issue thanks to excellent packing design.

My friend hates to admit this to her friends, but this was her favorite Christmas present. kzbin.infoUgkx8ISPQRRAfpAaX4msGjyodObTBnlj4T5g While I used to do the floors, since she hated doing them, this has changed things in our house. In one easy to use motion it sucks, dampens, cleans and dries the floor with a super clean and walk on a minute later surface. Load up the tank with solution and water to make it ready is about all you have to do. The big tank setting will do our kitchen, dinning room, hallway and entry with no problems.We do a light vacuum or sweep first to get rid of the big stuff, but if you floor isn't that bad, you wouldn't have too. We have kids, dog, neighbor kids, and winter crud, so our floors are usually that bad. It will handle anything, but just gets dirty faster and more hair is why we might get the big stuff. We can do everything from pulling it out to sucking to cleaned up in about 30 minutes, so it makes it quick and easy. Biggest thing is the floors are pretty much dry after you move the vacuum over them. No tracking, waiting, or foot prints everywhere. Cleaning is easy with sink rinse and let it air out a bit to dry. 5 minutes to cleanup and set to dry.I give credit to my sister, as she is a professional clean freak and this is her baby with about 1,000 sft of floor that has to be cleaned. She LOVES this and that is why we now have one. Great buy!

I'm so glad you mentioned the build quality of the Dyson. I am looking for a new alternative because we've bought 4 Dysons in the last 10 years and it's not because the motor's stopped working, it's because the cheap plastic parts on it have broken. We have our latest one now that is only about 2 years old and it has broken bits already. It's the cheapest bit of $500 junk I've ever bought... 4 times.

I recommend trying both brands out in person because there is a huge difference in quality. I use to work at a vacuum store and sold both of these and many other brands. Miele always impressed me with quality and how easy they make it to clean your house. I own both brands(Dyson big ball, cordless v10, and two mieles cat and dog uprights) and can say that I'm always happy when I get to use the miele.

I owned both brands and can say that - Dyson machines are full of gimmicks and quality of cleaning does not last. Dyson is not a superior brand but a super expensive brand that is heavily promoted.

Ive used a Miele bagged and Dyson bagless vacuum! My Miele lasted over 14 yrs, no problems other than the expense of changing bags all the time! My Dyson is made much cheaper, ripped strands of berber carpet out, cyclone action decreased as the canister got older-dirt sticks to the sides and the turbo head became useless due to a rubber flange sitting in front of the opening to the wand. After 4 yrs I am looking for another Miele!

Lot's of great criticism. Only thing on the wand, plastic doesn't bend or kink like the steel on the Miele. Definitely agree on the "cheap" feeling plastic's on the Dyson -- I'm sure it would last if it was cared for, but most people don't pay much attention to their vacuums and that's where the Miele build outlasts. The tiny wheel axle's on the Dyson are an abomination. As long as you don't go over the maximum fill line on the Dyson and keep the filters clean, the cyclone's really don't need a thorough washing, but of course most people don't follow the manual. Another note, the $499 Musclehead Dyson gives you two heads, one of which is better for hard floor, might've been a slightly fairer comparison; especially to a $799 Miele.

Miele is a vacuum (appliance) company, while Dyson is a marketing company. For an apples to apples comparison, just look at the MIele uprights vs the Dyson uprights......it's not even a fair fight. Although, in fairness, Miele did have a 100 year head star ;)

Im going to have to agree with him on how cheap the dyson feels. I bought recently the same one in the video and the wheels are weird not smooth and just overall i have to be very delicate with it and scuffs so easy, its like a baby the way you have to handle it. When the dyson first came out i remember my mom had hers for 15 years and loved it until i accidentally broke the handle using too much force lol but i feel like they dont make them as sturdy anymore. Its gets the job done but definitely there are better vaccums out there and i only bought it because i got it for $345 on sale canadian tire for black friday

I am sure Miele vacuum cleaner is very good. We have Dyson upright for last 12 years and it still works like a charm. Only part we had to replace was the roller at the bottom, which Dyson sent us without any cost. We were looking to buy a new vacuum but decided to hang on to our Dyson as it still works the same as day 1. We will check out Miele at some point though.

A better question is why you would even want to buy a bagless vacuum. Loosing suction might have been a thing when paper bags were still being used back in the 80s.. but these days, the bags that are being used in modern miele vacuums are worlds apart. I have had a Miele C3 for a about a year now. The dyson it replaced always just seemed to be ... dirty? I would have to take the dirt catcher apart every few months just to clean the thing and try to keep the smell at bay. The Miele? Just take the bag out when it's full and pop a new one in. There is literally no dust in the compartment for the bag. Amazing machine.

Having used both Miele and Dyson personally for extended periods (Miele Bagged (S2121 and the best of the bunch), Dyson DC 65 Animal Upright Vacuum, and now the Miele CX1 Bagless) The Miele is still hands down the better vacuum.

My dads always had Miele. I remember the carpet lifting due to its strong suction. You felt that you had cleaned your carpet properly. When I moved into my home, I went to buy one but a bag less one however they did not make them at that time - 12 years ago. So, I settled for a Dyson. Did not like it one bit. The suction just wasn’t there. Had to go over certain spots a few times - like socks fluff, even sometimes giving up and picking it with my hand. The rotating brush just ricocheted some solids back out. I’m so happy Miele has bag less ones now. Suction is still amazing. Convenient. You pay for quality.

I love the Dyson Big Ball vac. I've never had a problem with it. Its head profile is very low, so it allows me to get under almost anything like coffee tables etc.

Firstly, I’m in no way affiliated with anyone or any company in this video. I’m just a vac head. Meaning I love to vacuum, am obsessed with pristinely clean flooring and carpeting, and am always on the hunt for the best available vacuum on the consumer market. And I have 3 indoor cats. Not easy keeping pristine floors with 3 cats 🤣 but I do because, well, I’m OBSESSED 😂 For years I searched for the best vacuum and switched out vacs in hopes that THIS time it would be “the one”. Over the years, I’ve had them all; shark, electrolux, dyson, rainbow (so not worth the money, the worst vac ever, do not buy, wish I’d skipped it all together), hoover, eureka, Miele, bissell, royal, kalorik, etc., and I’ve used them all. Some were good, some were ok, some were horrible. But only one was outstanding. And the best vacuum I’ve ever used and in my opinion is the best on the market is: MIELE. Nothing compares to the suction. NOTHING. And somehow it doesn’t pull up or destroy fibers essentially “balding” your high pile hand spun antique wool dining room area rug in some spots yet somehow still not getting all the debris (thanks dyson and shark 🤬). They never require going over and over and over the same area to make it clean (the demo with the dyson in this video is a true representation of a dyson). They never tangle hair around the beater bar (dyson errrr 😡). They never spit stuff everywhere on hard surfaces forcing you to go back over an area you already did. Yes they are pricey, but they are a true worthwhile investment. And they cut your vacuum time in half. A regularly used, maintained Miele will last you 20+ years. And be as powerful as the day you got it. So you more than get your money’s worth in the long run. Most are not bagless (they now have a new line of bagless for the first time but I don’t have the bagless). So not as convenient or good for the environment. But it really makes no difference because you can empty the bag and reuse it 10+ times (I do) and buy bags on amazon 🤣Miele’s are amazing. They pick up everything. And have a setting for every floor type. Cannot heap enough praises on the Miele. I will never use another brand of vacuum again. Happy vacuuming everyone! ❤️

I was considering miele but i have mostly hardwood and i wasnt sure so i went with the dyson canister vacuum and its not all that great lol nothing special to be honest only two suction settings. I really like the kenmore 600 series purple vacuum was my fav

Pretty sure it was this video that pushed me toward the Miele CX1 a few years ago. After 2 years the handle broke and now it won’t stay connected. It’s also hard to find online unless I go with a crappy 3rd party alternative.

I have just purchased the Miele Blizzard CX1 cat & dog SKCF3 bagless vacuum this week 26/11/2019. This decision made after much research and viewing products in local stores. The Dyson was high on the list but as an engineer of long standing I liked the technology but not the build quality. This gentleman is not biased without good reason, in my professional opinion the Miele is a Mercedes-Benz to the Dyson's Ford. The materials and build quality of the Mile, like all their products, are in a different class. The Dyson is made of cheap plastic and manufactured in Singapore, my new Miele and all its accessories are made in the highest materials and manufactured in Germany. I may be a bit old fashioned but to me, to find a product that doesn't have 'made in PRC stamped' on it is wonderful. German designed and made, bloody marvelous. And its a damn good machine, really nice to operate and efficient, quieter also than the Dyson. Read the technology of its design and workings, Mile have waited, researched, and made their first bagless machine to the high standard of all their products. I did not want the top machine with wireless motor speed controls on the handle, its not necessary in my opinion and I do not trust digital devices, the rotary knob does the same job and is unlikely to fail, also the machine is only the flexible tube away from you so its just a gimmick for laziness. Buy it, you wont be disappointed with its quality and performance. ,

After about 8 years of use the Dyson canister animal vacuum cleaner started to have motor issues. Both the main motor and the motor in the head started be hesitant weak. The replacement motor is expensive. It worked very well during its lifespan. I replaced the Dyson with the high end Miele heavy duty canister with no bag. I found the Miele to be much lighter in weight for lugging it around. The Miele was more expensive and it is more refined. For the Miele I bought additional accessories for specialty type cleaning jobs. It is a higher end quality than the Dyson for sure. The Miele sucks stronger than the Dyson. I used a vacuum test meter to test the difference. Both types will do the job, but in the end you do get what you pay for. I also found getting accessories is easier for the Miele.

Let me help everyone out here. Miele and Dyson make a bagless canister. That’s great, but the real question is why do you want one? I have a Miele C3 bagged vacuums and unlike the dyson it replaced, have never had to clean the machine itself.

First, thank you for admitting your Miele Bias. I would also choose the Miele over the Dyson, but comparing those two isn't a fair contest. I currently use a Kenmore Canister and working of getting my Electrolux Upright out of storage and tuned up. I bring up the Kenmore and the Electrolux Discovery II for a reason. I like being able to switch not only the power nozzle from the handle, but also like being able to switch the suction motor. In the Miele you don't get this function until you get to the top end machines. A more fair comparison would be to compare a power team to a power team such as that Miele to a Kenmore 22614. I also see Miele being a winner there too for tool storage, brush roll cleaning, and clean out. The Kenmore would get points for price, convenience (all switch controls are on the handle), and attachments (you also get a mini power nozzle.

I have both vacuums. Bought a Dyson for hoovering bedrooms and mattresses. Unable to regulate suction on the Dyson and the build quality is disappointing. Have to clean and clear the brush head every time it’s used. The brush’s don’t last very long ! The Miele is fantastic quality and better in every aspect

Not biased at all, I owned 3 dysons old dyson standup, v8 and a v10, thinking they are the best. But in reality, they are hard to clean after having them for a few years, especially with hairs stuck in the trash bin and the fine dusts. After my Dyson standup retired, I got a Miele Uniq S8 bag style vacuum, I dont have to worry about cleaning and the bag last from 3 - 6 months depending on dirt level. No more washing the trash bin. Eventually I will upgrade to a bagless Miele because their trash bin is fully washable and it got a fine dirt filter to separate the bigger dirt and finer dusts. When you empty the dust bin, only the bigger pieces will drop and the fine dirt and dust won't puff up like smoke unlike those dyson vacuum. I kept the v8 and v10 for car cleaning only now. But TBH, I felt the dyson looks cool and the motor is powerful, but their design is not very practical. Other brands like the LG handheld is just as good, if not better, than the dyson in long term ease of maintenance.

I've owned a couple of Miele Vacuums and a couple of Dyson. I would agree that this review comes off a little bit biased, but once you've spent time with both, you'll feel the same way. Miele make a much higher quality product than Dyson. Dyson is all marketing hype. Dyson are awkward to use and whilst they do an okay job, Miele make a product that not only works well, but also makes you feel good using it. You'll want to brag about your Miele and show it off to your friends. All the Dyson lovers are just getting up in arms because they have to defend spending $500 on their cheap plastic vacuum that works no better than a $99 vacuum from Kmart.

@@impendingrapture bagless vacuums almost always use cyclonic filtration: basically circular airflow that through centrifugal forces separates dust and dirt leaving clean (in theory) air to pass through the vacuum motor. The problem is, you will almost never completely separate dust and dirt from the air - which means it gets sucked into the motor - eventually this will cause motor failure. You can put a filter before the motor, but this will reduce airflow and ergo cyclonic force/efficiency, requiring a larger motor (more power and $$$). You also will eventually have to clean the vacuum because unlike a bagged vacuum, dust isn’t just trapped in the bag, but in the filter, the cyclonic separators, etc. With a bagged vacuum, you literally just take the bag out and throw it away; much cleaner.

Miele is by far the superior Vacuum cleaner. I can attest to that as I utilize one. In fact, the majority of Miele appliances are excellent in both results and reliability. It really is Miele function over the Dyson hype. Miele appliances are expensive investments, but really end up being very economical in the long run.

Can't beat a good ol' Numatic vacuum like a Henry or a James if you ask me. We own both a Dyson and a James and they are both good but if we could only have 1 of the two I'd pick the James any day of the week, the James has a lot more airflow in my experience. What I also like about Numatic vacuum's too is that they're still made here in Britain, good ol' quality British made vacuum cleaner, not very expensive either. A Numatic machine could last over 20 years.

I have a Dyson, and a Miele and a Rainbow. My favorite was my Rainbow which died yesterday after 18+ yrs. What I loved about it was the long METAL wands and a long hose...it was an expensive cleaner, but worked great!! It has a heavy duty hardwood floor attachment and all the parts of the wands detached...the worst part?? Emptying filthy water outside. Next my Dyson Stowaway...bagless..great suction..had this machine for 15 yrs....but the WORST hose design EVER!!! It has a built in 45 degree angle handle...and where do you think it constantly CLOGS?!!! The flimsy plastic hose is nearly impossible to remove from the cleaner, and no way to even ram a long rod up to clear the clogs because of the built in bend. We had to use a pressure washer inside the hose to clear it....simple cat hair! Then, the wands collapse inside each other - so the wand is never slender enough to be useful. The floor attachment is bulky. And, the cheaper plastic hose splits after a couple years. I have duct tape on it at the moment. And finally, the Miele. I do love it! It is lightweight, has suction power to boot, and a control for it...I love the Metal Wands. It's a canister with HEPA filter. In my opinion, the hose is way too short. So, I am shopping around for a bagless canister. A good one is worth the money!! I ONLY have bare floors...it's tough finding a cleaner with a good old-fashioned heavy rubber (not plastic) floor attachment, long durable hoses, and a canister. May just have to find another Rainbow...though dumping the water is still a pain!!!!

I recently bought the Dyson Cinetic barrel vac. Kept it for a day as it had ‘cord creep’: with the cleaner turned on the power cord would gradually retract back into the machine, where, after 20 minutes or so, you would lose more than a metre and a half of cord. I swapped the vac for another Miele. Dyson should focus more closely on their QC and the durability of their machines. I’m surprised that your machine didn’t lose a wheel up to that point in time. Software and Crafts be gentle with it. After 5 years dyson plastic gets very brittle and starts to break. Most do not last past two years but some have.

@@candyland5907 no I'm not! As someone who worked in the industry it was all too common seeing plastic parts broken on them. Service centers will not even take them apart because the plastic dyson uses is thin and inferior. Most non premium machines are made of a low grade abs plastic, but Dyson's arent even abs plastic, it's just thin low quality blow molded stuff that deteoriates fast. Older models had thicker plastic but were still prone to dry rot. I have seen many that have and just because you havent hit yours hard enough to crack or break a piece off doesnt mean it's not already dry rotten or that they do not suffer from the issue. We would get hundreds of Dyson's in for service every week needing hundreds of dollars in plastic part repairs. Most customers would just opt not to repair and get something with better quality. Bagless machines are very unhygienic, they lack power, and overall they do not clean well at all, especially deep cleaning your carpets. There are far better machines out there that are bagged that do a far superior job to any dyson or any bagless machine and they cost less to run and maintain. One filter on a dyson to replace costs more than 4 years worth of vacuum bags. Most Dyson's have at least two filters with the cinetic big balls requiring two large hepa filters that must be replaced every 6 months. Failure to do so will result in motor failure.

Reviewer, bias alert, I'm a Miele dealer, hmm. I'm not a Miele dealer or a Dyson dealer, just a vac owner! I've owned both, Dyson does feel cheaper, but it's because it's designed to be much lighter and easier to use and it simply picks up better due to cyclonic tech. The Miele bagless vac (Blizzard) is heavy, the filters constantly clog up, requires lots of filter cleaning maintenance and it's big so doesn't balance on stairs. The Dyson I hardly ever had to clean the bin out, just empty it. In the end I think Miele bagged vacs are better, Miele just don't do bagless vacs well, Dyson have been making cyclonic vacs for 20+ years and they do the best bagless vacs so it depends on what you want, bagged (go for Miele) or bagless (go for Dyson).

I was almost spoken into buying the Dyson Cinetic Power ball. Ive owned a Miele Vacuum cleaner now for 10years and I absolutely loved it. It was a beast powerwise. Since you deal with the Miele Vacuum cleaners; and since I really would like a Miele again. Which model would you suggest for a home that has mostly stone floors; almost no carpets. My Miele wasn't a bagless one ; it need a vacuum bag but would literally swallow up anything on the floor. I loved it. Even if half our socks were gone in no time. On the other hand I like the bagless idea; like the blizzard but don't want to compromise on the powerful suctioning.

Right off the bat, admits he has incentive and bias... I've been using multiple dyson's for my housekeeping business. These things run 30 hours a week for 5 plus years without any issues. The dyson has power selection in a trigger gun at handle for ease of use. The head on the M is huge and clunky, will not easily fit under furniture. Bias upon bias, no the dyson doesn't clog or get stuck. This is ridiculous. Btw, I dont sell either product, > have no bias. I'm just always looking for the best machines for my value, that are easy to use efficiently for my technicians. Really bugs me to see these hucksters misrepresenting the truth. (Btw, I have a 15 year old dyson upright I use in my personal home. 15 years, no loss of suction. 10:39 AHHH i don't think your suppose to clean with running water, this might sound like more of a hasle but Its recommended to use a damp cloth because doing that could destroy the cyclones because of the water leaking through and into the electrical motor system and damaging your Vacuum. We're currently looking for a vacuum cleaner as our previous just died. In the UK most people are obsessed with dysons. I borrowed one to test and seen some in stores and wouldn't get one. My thoughts on plastic are the same! And however, I didn't use this particular one the one I've used seemed so hard to manoeuvre... We are going for Miele but the bagged ones after considering Thomas washing vacuum cleaner which is just too big&heavy to carry upstairs with back problem. So all in all Dyson for me has great marketing but the quality could be better.

im going to come to you from the technicians point of view because I am one and I've taken apart and repaired many different machines including brands you've probably never heard of and im going to be completely unbiased as I can. The Dyson's are very poorly engineered Miele even has canisters for around $399 that are much better quality still have quality ABS plastics, metal on the bottom plates on the floor tools overall the type of thing I would expect from spending that much on a machine. Dyson is way overrated especially when you pay that much for one they in my experience are very hard to work on, overly complex for no reason at all very flimsy to change a belt even on their uprights is a nightmare and requires a special tool that we have to get from Dyson and ideally a second person to help you because of how much tension is on their belts and hence they wear out fairly quickly. for $399 I can think of a dozen or more machines I would have long before a Dyson it always pays to visit your independent dealer of vacuums and not a store, stores are for clothes and shoes if you want a real vacuum visit an independent dealer in your area anything you buy from them will be better than anything in a store

Rob get over yourself. Dysons are garbage.. always have and always will be. They are cheap, fragile garbage. If your biggest complaint is the weight of the wand and the short crevice tool then you have serious issues! If you cannot lift a wand then you shouldn’t be using a vacuum. Besides the metal wand is just slightly heavier than dysons overly complex double plastic sheath wands.

I particularly like Dyson! Even though the plastic seems flimsy my DC01 i still have and it operates great! Even though I did get a new Animal 2, i have to lend my DC01 to my mom sometimes and my aunt because they love the suction and all that.. My aunt actually just bought a new canister and she doesn’t think it’s hard to clean.. She just buys a few cans of computer air cleaner and takes it outside and goes to town with it haha and that’s it.. she’s had it for a year and loves it still.. her floor tool is different though... she has the trigger head floor tool which in my opinion is much greater than the nylon/carbon fiber bristle head because you can turn the brush off at the handle... Also, when you auto register with dyson you can get the floor tool for free...

I think, this review is very negatively biased towards the Dyson. I use Dyson vacuum for my motel and they have been the most durable vacuums I have ever used. You can hit them many times and nothing will ever break. Even when the guy says, the Dyson looks cheap, he's wrong. That plastic is very durable. Miele is a good brand, don't get me wrong, but the pricetag is top top level and I am sure, it would not perform as well as the Dyson does in the everyday use. I agree, that it takes some time to really deep clean a Dyson, but once you have done it once, it takes one hour to clean the whole turbine part, which I do twice a year. I would not confirm, that the Dyson looses suction when it gets more dirtier. The simpler design of the Miele explains also the lesser suction power versus the Dyson. I guess, to each his own. As a private person, I could deal with Miele as I used to have one, but for the business, I prefer the Dyson. Both vacuum are great products, one is made in the UK and the other in Germany (maybe really made in China for both). The quality of a Dyson is not lesser than the one of a Miele. It's about the price tag and your preferences at the bottom line.I own 4 Dyson and I am happy with them.

I agree - I have a Dyson vacuum, though not the canister. I have the V7 Car+Boat and it works great in that application. I have a other Dyson products (fans, heater, hair dryer, etc.) and I genuinely think they're great. I think the vacuum someone likes is a personal preference based on how they use it. I have the Miele C3 Marin as my main vacuum, which works very well for me but I admit that it's cost prohibitive for many people (about $1,100.) I also have two cats that I don't brush, so the bags fill up pretty fast and they're expensive ($100 for 16 bags plus 1 HEPA filter.) If I didn't have pets, the Dyson would probably be better for me. He was pretty unfair to Dyson though! Edit: I was on this video, kind of researching the Miele bagless. I was thinking about selling the Marin and going w/ the Miele bagless due to bag cost.

It still has not lost suction, it’s cord is still in brand new condition, and I have yet to find any kind of dent or hit mark on the unit. Props to them for making that- it still works amazingly

We bought a Miele (different model) a year and a half ago. After one month we got ride of our Dyson. There is no comparison in terms of quality, ease of use, efficiency. . . I can go on to create a long list of negatives for the Dyson but You'd think I work for Miele. I don't and no one in our family does. Miele has stronger suction, hepa filtartion, much quieter even on the highest setting of which there are six. It is the BMW of vacuums while Dyson is the Jaguar- nice styling but oh what a headache. The one thing Dyson has going for it - Great ads. By the way, Miele has a better warranty, but you'll never need it.

I have the Miele Capricorn. Bought the Dyson Animal first and was recommended to get the Miele. The Dyson went right back to the store the next day. It picks up okay but it's bagless and bagless machines are greatly overrated and way more maintenance than machines with bags. The Dyson also felt wobbly.

Spare yourself the trouble and just get a bagged Miele. You'll be much happier than with either of these. This bag-less Miele is very poorly designed. The single cyclone is very inefficient and you'll be washing filters all the time, and the exhaust filter isn't even user accessible. There are even rumours that it isn't even designed by Miele, but rather by Bosch, and looking at how the air paths are designed, there are definitely similarities to Bosch bag-less vacuums.

I have bagged miele for the past two years and I couldn't be happier. The worst part about bagless is you need to press the button to release the dirt so in short you are exposing yourself to all the allergens again. Bagged is better as I just use and throw it. I have used Dyson bagless before and trust me I used to get allergic after every cleaning

How long do the bags last? I am replacing an older Electrolux canister bagless canister that is about 16-17 years old. It was 600$ at that time. I'm hesitant to get bagged because we have two dogs, a cat and two teenagers. our canister is dead and so we have been using the V8 cordless animal dyson but that sucks for carpets upstairs. I got 14 years of heavy use out of my Dyson. Routine cleaning and filter changes was all i did. The plastic is finally giving out. Duct tape and glue can only do so much. HAHA Everything else is still working like a champ. That being said, I'm looking at a Miele bagless. You scare me saying only 5 years out of this unit! What gives? I'm reading a lot of comments stating that this reviewer is biased in favor of Miele and against Dyson. I'm a vacuum collector, a particular admirer of Miele, and I have a few responses to these criticisms of his review. First, I don't know anyone who knows a lot about the broad range of vacuum cleaners presently in production who thinks that Dyson measures up to Miele in quality and performance. The reasons for this are numerous and don't reflect bias but conclusions after the various machines are compared and contrasted. Now, when this reviewer went into this video, it's fair to say he's probably biased toward Miele, but he knows the history of both and such a bias is unavoidable. Unless he constructed a blind study, he's going to know which vacuum is being used, so the bias may indeed influence his conclusions. But, certain things are just factual and immune to bias: Miele has speed settings and an electric rotating brush with adjustable height, while Dyson doesn't have either of those. Moreover, you can't construct a more fair comparison by testing a higher-tier Dyson canister because Dyson doesn't currently produce a canister with an electric power nozzle; they make only turbine brushes for canister vacuums and markets them as effective for cleaning every type of floor and carpet. (Miele does make turbine brushes, but this mode of powering the spinning brush is known to not work very well on thick carpets, and Miele clearly states this and doesn't market that attachment as being appropriate for cleaning thick carpet.) Having said these things in support of his conclusions, I do not claim to be a fan of this review. I think it's unprofessional (little kid doing the cleaning, vacuums on the kitchen island flagrantly showcasing kitchen appliances he sells), and I would never recommend this channel just based on the quality of this review. However, if you go to other sources or compare the same two vacuums yourself, without bias from past experiences with both brands, you'd probably agree with his conclusions. I agree he's biased, but that bias exists for a reason, and he's probably correct.

The last model with a powered brush Dyson produced, was the DC23 motorhead, which I have two of them. They perform perfectly on carpet and I bet, they do better than the Miele head. I agree, I am not 100% certain, that the air powered brush would have the same suction as a motorized head, but it still does the job.

I've had gen 1 *Animal ball upright dyson* and the smaller animal ball Dyson, and oreck magnesium RS. For the dyson upright .. it was medium ok, it lasted for 6 years its end of life was a tear in the internal hose. In practice it started out great, but after a year or two the suction on it petered out/ Cleaning it was okay, I too couldn't deep clean like this video suggested so after awhile it started to have that 'burn' smell. The power head was ok, but i didn't feel like it was that great on carpet other than commercial flat. Anything plush was half assed clean imo, and i didn't even bother trying it on the Shaw ultra plush. And then choke points. Again, I keep seeing this but the Dyson models suck up through an O, but then choke at a slit "I" .. so of course somethings going to get stuck ... Hands down this point alone is why I wouldn't purchase another Dyson, but I also have that ultra plush so point 2 was the double tap. For the Ultra plush, I got the *Oreck Magnesium RS* .. that was a waste of money. It lasted 5 months - no one would honor the warranty repairs and it was just cash down the drain - full no start. When you pull it open it siphons material through a fan casing (it's built like a pump) and the suction opening is much larger than that fan point so it created an internal choke point - that requires internal warranty repairs. Big joke. I'll also comment that I went to leave an honest review with Oreck and they moderated my review (it was more than PC, all factual no reason for them to delete it). For the small Dyson ball, choke points, cleaning, and the same issue this guy had, hair around the brush completely stopped the rotation. To the point that after a couple years it just doesn't function on low plush carpet. I 100% agree with this review its a commercial carpet application only, or use the hard floor brush .. which in practice didn't pick up much of anything. Again - I wouldn't purchase this again. Thanks for the review - I'm curious about choke points in the miele's. The struggle is real to find something that can handle hair, clean and not pick something up to get caught further up in the chassis.

This what you called "cheap injection molded plastics" in Dyson is ultra durable and lighweight ABS / Polycarbonate blend. Dyson is using it for years becouse its unbreakable. It was not made to convince You but just to be lightweight and durable. Also no words no words from You about Dyson tangle free attachment. Nothing to say about what comes out from the exhaust. Also no words about filtration systems on both machines where's the biggest difference. CX1 is just a typical bagless vacuum where dirt is catched on a HUGE pre motor filter. So it's constatly blocked and you have have to clean it every time by shaking... Dyson's cyclones system is well covered online and tested by milions so no need another explanation here.

I bought a Dyson when my 25 yo Miele gave up the ghost. After just 2 years of use, the Dyson power brush stopped working along with the handle's the on/off switch. Miele is superior when it comes to quality and performance and I plan to buy another. Will never again buy another Dyson product.

I do not know why you would even bother with a Dyson canister. They have consistently received very poor reviews in consumer reports, as well as, tests on KZbin. Personally, I like bagged vacuums. To me they are easier. I do not have to clean the canister after vacuuming and they have much better filters. Mr. Dyson's claims about loss of suction is not true with all canisters. Unlike some folks, I am able to check the bag and change it when 2/3's full. You can go to any dyson store and they will tell you the biggest problem is people neglecting to clean the filters in their dyson vacuums. Good luck if you get pet hair in the cyclones. They will clog up big time. I think the whole bag-less craze is more psychological. People like seeing the dust and dirt. It is instant gratification.

The problem with bagless machines is that people don't take care of them. They just think: Wow I don't need to spend money on bags.. But it's not that easy. Clogged cyclones? If you don't go over max line if won't happen. Wash filters as the manual tells you and your machine will last.

„I don’t see the dyson functioning for me past 2 or three years“ They have a 5 year guarantee... and last for up to 15 years. And they have a very helpful and competent customer service that is trying to do nearly everything to solve the issue. I own various dyson products and I am happy to own them, every time I use them. And yes my family owned Miele for so long (washing machine, vacuum... , but it has lost its touch and sense for innovation. I have to excuse myself, but the way how the comparison is presented in a unprofessional way, due to a lack of research when it comes to the dyson product, I have the urge to give this video more then one dislike.

I think Dyson is a good vacuum but in my opinion Miele is better they are 1:better quality 2:they've been tested to last 20 years 3: with Miele you get what you pay for so your heads and your extension wand won't break as easy as a dyson 4: there just a great vacuum vacuum in general Whoo whoo go Germany 👍
