Nice stuff. We were through there in 2017 on the GDT. Nice to see this stretch again.

Got me digging for old maps now!.. small group of us via Miette, Moose and out at Berg Lake in 3rd week of June 1979. Started up Grant Brook and recall the trail being snowy and wet.. muddy up to the ears! Thought that Rink was more in the open. Nice to see again from your eyes.. never made it back.

Grant Brook! I saw that valley 2 days after this video coming out of Grant pass. I'm not even sure how you got to Rink cabin from there...

If you have a picture of the cabin I'd be delighted to see it....

I will look but it will be 35mm pics. Found my diary now.. 3 guys shared a 2 man tent so took turns with one guy sleeping rough each night. First night I had the porch of Rink to sleep on and 3 squirrels for company!@@marcofthetrail

@@williamdechant6234 Considering I had a 2 man tent just for me on this trip that is certainly a whole different kind of backpacking!

For sure! .. the biggest challenge was the snow covered trails and packing heavy for 14 day trip. Other trips on N&S Boundary we had 4 men & 2 tents. Yup.. solo is harder to keep weight down.@@marcofthetrail

Saw "Miette River" and started thinking of Miette Hot Springs, then you were going to Moose Pass and I thought "what's this guy gonna DO?!" This makes a lot more sense.
@marcofthetrail10 ай бұрын
Lol. I know...it's the much much much much lesser known little brother Miette. I'm not even certain why Miette hot springs is named as such. The Miette river joins the mighty Athabasca near the Jasper townsite and gets nowhere near the hot springs.

@@marcofthetrail The hotsprings are in the Miette range. Lots of things were named after Jean Baptiste Miette, a Métis voyageur.

Just finished and thanks for the shout out. If you return and the water is high there is another Resplendant crossing we used coming out that is far safer. You can reach out and I’ll explain where it is. Looking forward to the rest of this trek as section F is in my todo’s to piece together some of the places I’ve been. Some big ones planned for next year already but if I get a decent weather window in between I’ll wil definitely take on F. Ready for the next day on the Miette Marc.

Cool. I probably won't tackle that valley again for a few years. For one thing Berg lake trail needs to open up. Glad you enjoyed it. 4 more videos to come.

@@marcofthetrail you can take that trail out to the Blueberry and as you know from doing the NBT that area is soooo beautiful.
@marcofthetrail10 ай бұрын
@@TrekkingwithTaz It is nice it's true. I'll have to do that trek sometime. Even just to try and complete a section hike of the GDT at some point.

Just watching this Marc and first thing for next time if you had of driven across the tracks and up the hill there is a Moose river Kiosk and registra as well as a huge place to park.

True...I'm still not sure if it was legal to do so at that time. Ultimately it would have just meant a longer walk out to the highway to hitch hike in this case.
