NGL when I first watched this I cried when Firefly started crying. Hell, I've watched this a couple times now and hearing the male SAM's real voice say the SAM's iconic line and ending it with "For Her Majesty" and it cutting to a TERRIFIED Firefly repeating the same thing before pulling the trigger makes me tear up every time. The parallels with Glamoth's Iron Cavalry vs the Swarm and the YoRHA Units vs the machine lifeforms in Nier:Automata is massive. Both being bred and programed to be expendable weapons of war against a nigh infinite number of enemies. Both are made to believe a lie to motivate them to continue fighting ("Titania's empire" for the cavalry and Mankind for the YoRHA Units). And once the lie is revealed both are completely wiped out leaving barely any survivors. Honestly, its no wonder Firefly is so attached to Trailblazer 😢

Sad thing is, there was nothing worth protecting there anymore. They were simple fighting and dying because it is their duty to do so. Also keep in mind, this took place maybe hundreds if not thousands of years before present time, so thats how long she was floating there in space before Kafka found her.

Do we have any confirmation that this happened a long time ago? I don't believe this happens during the big war against the propagation and remnants of the swarm still exists in the universe. The Astral Express even happened upon some of the swarm in the current day, during Argentis quest. Though I guess there's nothing saying that it couldn't have been hundreds or thousands of years ago but it sounds more reasanable to assume it happened more recent.

​@@Gasten950We don't have definitive proof but certain things strongly imply that this happened a whiiiile ago: 1. Fireflies aren't supposed to live long because of their entropy loss syndrome (our Firefly is most likely an exception due to whatever powers she has awakened in this battle as signified by the green glow surrounding her body floating in space, so the disease most likely isn't quite as terminal for her) 2. If they lost so many just fighting a single Swarm Mother, I doubt they could survive for thousands of years since their creation without any supply of clones (which obviously couldn't exist if Glamoth has already fallen) 3. Firefly's hair can also be used as somewhat of a proof, since we know she has been growing it out and it doesn't appear to be much longer here than in her Myriad Celestia Trailer, which once again implies that the period between her "birth" and this battle is relatively short (and Glamoth had to be destroyed during this period) TL;DR, we have terminal illness, extremely low survivability rate and Firefly's apparently not-so-long life which all combined together make it extremely unlikely/borderline impossible for the events of this animated short to have taken place in any recent times~

Not sure if I misremember this but isn't the sam suit suposed to help them survive against the syndrome the only reason we see her more in her "human" form in the story is because we're in the dream so it's not progressing. The powerup is just how strong her will is atleast if we take what Welt says during the "keep up with star rail" video as real lore. No idea why she glows green is space though. 2. We don't know how long Glamoth existed and we don't know when they started to fight against the swarm, could've been 1000,100 or 10 years ago. At the point of this video Glamoth has already fallen and they're presumably the last of the Iron Cavalry.. 3. I don't think they would change up a characters design too much just for a trailer, so doesn't really mean anything. Could also just mean it hasn't been that long since it happen or she actually just cuts her hair (as much of a assumption as everything else here). The only time we saw a character being noticably different in a trailer is Jing Yuan when he's younger. Anyway it's kind of pointless to argue about this without any concrete information about dates. It's fun to speculate and theorize but I just don't think people should post assumptions and speculations as they were facts.

@@Gasten950 Agreed, we sadly don't have quite as much definitive information at the moment, so it's best to wait until 2.3 to see if there'll be any more info about Glamoth. Like, as of right now we only know when approximately the Swarm Disaster happened (13XX AE) and that the Empire most likely fought during those times as seen in their Planar Ornament set (the amount of bugs was supposedly so immense that they covered the skies of Glamoth's star system and blocked out the light from the star, which could either imply that the period mentioned is the Swarm Disaster due to the sheer number of bugs needed for such a feat or that there are still way, WAY too many of them left all around the universe)

So... Evangelion, hi3 itself, Gundam exia... And pretty much Hoyo pulling every Mecha trope for her trailer. ....and penacony final is ironically will recreate this trailer since sparkle will pull "this is just a prank" if I assume what the next of the game story gonna be. ... Well, this is gut wrenching... The lore is pretty much as you've read and take in. And yes, we all still can beat those darn bugs in SU with all flame and buff we can stack fellas 😑 Also, anyone definitely could feel the shinji of Eva, and Kiana of impact 3rd if the final of that game ended up like this. Man... Hoyo just not messing around with their story...

You say it's sad but I say it's the logical thing to do. I love firefly and her lore but cloning the best fighter and just giving them all a fake hope so that they could fight for not just their lives, but others around the light-years of space around them was smart. Everyone died families were slaughtered the swarm spared nothing so while making those clones someone had to lose their humanity to give humanity another chance.

I researched Firefly before this animation was posted, and I honestly got the impression that Trailblazer was the one who found Firefly in her Cryopod and recruited her. I guess I was wrong. I was kind of hoping that we would see Stellaron Hunter Trailblazer in this animation. Maybe it's still too early to tell even after watching this animation. There’s something very odd about that ending. I feel like I'm missing something here that I can't piece together. She couldn't have survived for so many years while suffering from her ELS. The only way I can think of how she survived all these years while preserving the ELS was that she was in cryostasis. Maybe we might learn more once her banner is released to check out her character story. I'm still holding on to the theory that Trailblazer recruited Firefly.

I reckon the trailblazer being a Stellaron Hunter is meant to be a big reveal in the future, so while it's possible that we, Kafka, and Elio recruited Firefly together, Kafka is the face/diplomat of the Stellaron Hunters, so she was the only one shown in this animation to avoid a major plot reveal. Current theory is that the order of the SH goes as: Elio > TB > Kafka > Firefly > Blade > Silver Wolf.

We do know that Elio sends someone to recruit Kafka, meaning we have 1 more stellaron hunter missing, TB is one possible candidate due to how the SH seems to treat them as Friend and companions, or maybe we aee going to be introduced to them in the future

Eilo instructed someone to approach her by following his "butterfly-effect script" with the chances of being killed, which resulted in a doom future. It said so in Kafka's 4th Character Story. So it's most likely that Eilo found Trailblazer first and sent them to find Kafka, despite being inexperienced in combat.

Worse actually. She SUCCESSFULLY brought back the Emanator of Propagation (she did put a failsafe on it to prevent it from actually doing harm). If you look at it's trace material lore it outright says that it uses entire PLANETS as incubators!

Glamoth was actually really lucky, that this not happened during the peak of the Swarm Disaster, if this happened during the Swarm Disaster, The Swarm will not be led by Swarm mothers, but by Emanators of Propagation similar to Skarakabaz and Glamoth will not survive at all, it would have been a one sided slaugther, only the Aeons themselves were able to stop Tazzyronth and scattered their remnants.
