having to face aim-9m (AH-1Z) in my su-22m3 is a nightmare ;-; also that new "air alert" quick chat is quite handy see an enemy press it and suddenly all your team knows where that enemy aircraft is, relative to their position which is nice for early missile spaa with IR missiles that got no radar

If you don't want to alert enemy RWR you can use IRST instead of radar.

Probably the best way to play the smt in grb is to use irst with r-27et to fight enemy planes.

Priority to SPAA then static tanks in clean positions with no dead tanks around, and if I didn't find any I come closer to around 7km and pick two moving targets for the Kh-29TD.

Hunter have you ever used the Ab-205 and A109? When I grinded the german tree for the Tiger I though that was pain, but God damn this is even worse, A109 doesn't even have a cockpit sight for simulator

MiG-27k is nice with 4x laser guided missiles but it is still has SPO-15 RWR which is old RWR that tells nothing, but anyway Gaijin gave SPO-150 to MiG-29SMT so it is better now.

Im in the 29G now, sadly it only have dumb bombs. Wont like the Tornado ingame. Its fat and Laser bombs are also meh. TV guided is way better, fire n forget.

All the open source info I find about the Kh29 mention a much bigger warhead than what we have in game about 320 kg). If this is true, why does Gaijin keep this missile intentionally nerfed with a warhead slightly under 150 kg of tnt equivalent?

Warhead weight != explosive weight. Decent rule of thumb is that the explosive weight is usually roughly 1/2 the total warhead weight. It's not always the case, but it roughly applies to most cases. You can see this very clearly with bombs, bombs are essentially 100% warhead, I mean what else do they do, but only usually 50% of this weight is explosives. And again, exceptions exist.

What I've been having issues with is the Kh in tv mode, when i lock an area, i cannot unlock it. I've tried all the controls and went over them in test flight. Wonder if it's a bug as I have never had issues with other tv guided ordinance and I mostly play top tier so I use set controls often. Anyone else having issues?

Hello, yes you are right, but it was a hovering chopper so I thought I won't need the IRST because I was thinking of gunning it mainly, I usually use IRST against jets, for example the enemy MiG in Kuban, locked him with PD and directly switched to IR lock.

they had it wrong as spo-15 which is just rwr with 15 angles and understanding if its ground based or air or whatever. SPO-150 is capable of knowing who exaactly is locking you (f16, f14, harrier, roland, adats, tunguska, torm1, mig21/23, mig29, and some others)

Because WT is relatively a realistic game, if the tank has warning systems in real life it gets them in WT, Challenger 2 Black Night has APS for example and PUMA has laser warning system.

Sorry but WT is a combined arms game, I don't get mad at all when I get killed in my tank by a plane. I made peace with this idea since 9 years, try to do the same. Also I didn't design the game, and I'm not the only CAS player in the game, every battle I see at least 3 players from each team in the sky. Also there is no tanks gameplay in top tier, it is just arcade childish infantry Battle Royale gameplay with bed room size maps, give me map selection system where I can play only huge maps and then I will bring real tanks lineups.

I saw you today multiple times in SB, a pity you took Mi-8 then died in the first 2min and quit. Mate, take a tank or fighter after death and contribute to a team. I understand that probably you are just looking for that sweet gameplay with Mi-8 where you made it to the battlefield and scored some kills, therefore you want to quit to join the next game as quickly as possible... but cmon, quitting after the first death is not great.

I like playing tanks in big maps only, in all modes. I remember when I got shot down in Fire Arc I used my T-55 but if I see Berlin or Cargo Port in sim no way I'm going to touch the ground, I see them in top tier RB everyday so no point to play them in sim, top tier should be for big maps only, sorry for being like this but it is my only way to protest against the childish map rotation, and yeah I was trying the new heli for fast runs, it was pain so I was a little frustrated to stay in the battle .. Begleitpanzer and M247 with RB controls are too much for an Mi-8 with sim controls. Have a wonderful day :)

How far can Kh-29TD track MOVING targets from?

Around 7km, the target is MBT. Because size of the target matters, the bigger the target the higher range for all TV weapons to capture the vehicle.
