Awesome. Always welded pipe with autogeen/oxygen(35 years) and now I am about to learn it by TIG. This vid helped me a lot. It's a very clean proces contrary to autogeen where you often have spatters. I love this Vid and learned to use a big mouthpiece so as to get optimum shield. I am not there yet but many many thanks and greetz from Holland, Marcel Knippers😀👌

I'm glad it helped you somewhat. Tig and mig welding both have their special place, so it is tough to say one is superior to the other. It is best to know both ways so you can always choose the best process for the job at hand. Thanks for watching!

When I look at welded equipment in the care sector I do really appreciate the bead of a tig. So much so that I point it out to my work colleagues that couldn't care one bit. However, time and cost mig is all the way the champion on this thickness.

The debate, mig can be quicker in ways. However, i really like the bead that a tig welder can lay down. No splatter and it just looks cleaner to me! Material doesn’t have to be as clean with mig welding. It still needs to be clean.. but any tig welds I have had to prep had to be pretty clean! But again most of the weld we did had to be mag inspected and some X- ray.

Hard to beat mig for speed and on carbon steel it usually does an excellent job.

@@jdbrewer6638 sweet glad he got it back (heard it was stollen idk got rid of the gram) even if he sold it. did they mess anything up or just pick it clean and dump it, aka crack head renta car.

@Dylan Warner they took it and stole all his tools and welders he had on it. Then they just dumped it. It took a little while to find it, so he found a truck in the meantime. So once the police found the truck and got it back he sold this one to me because he had already got another one. They cut the wireless harness off the trucks crane and ripped out a door lock but that's all the real damage to the truck. David lost alot more money in his tools than the trucks worth.
