Two production welders came from Spain to do some welding on a new trains we import but accidentally damaged in delivery. When they saw Fronius Transpuls Synergic 2700 CMT they just said "thank you God"

I've used them (TransPulse) on a pipeline job in Kuwait...50 C temps (120 F or close to it), 1 km per day, CRC auto wire delivery system. Made me a believer in the brand, Fronius def kicks ass.

Nice aluminum welds. At my work I have a Millermatic 252 and an old, finicky, spoolgun. Weld aluminum all day, on a good day it comes out just as nice. Wouldn't mind giving that Fronius a try. Doubt the boss will be replacing our Millers though.

I could be wrong but Wire Speed and Amperage is the same thing. What you meant to say was Wire Speed and Volts? This is where the synergy comes in. It keeps the wire Speed and the volts synergic together. Amps in MIG welding are the same thing as your wire speed. As crazy as that sounds. But yeah.
@justinlambert2447
@justinlambert2447 10 ай бұрын
I find the synergic mode choosing mild steel material thickness over 1/8", is way too hot, is there a way to adjust the presets? 210 thickness, not quite 1/4", sets wire speed to 550, and 27.6 V, I adjust it down to about 450 wire speed, 22-23V and it seems about right. Otherwise very impressive machine.
@mgeb101
@mgeb101 4 жыл бұрын
If you need your weld to be a bit hotter in synergic mode just increase the "arc force" it's on the right dial ;) Btw... Awesome machine, got me into welding again because it's so easy with it...

Loved this clip man -- cool sense of humor and straight in the eye talk. I'd love to hear how you compare this with a Fronius MagicWave 230i to this Transsteel 2200. You can tell from the question I am a total newbie, but from all I've read it seems like the Transsteel 2200 is an all-around knife, while the MagicWave 230i is some sort of a surgical scalpel... Care to comment ? Thanks again for your content! High quality content, just like the Fronius. Subscribed already!

If you are prepared to consider a stand-alone plasma cutter, Hypertherm ONLY make 'cutters and are very highly regarded - for a hobbiest their Powermax 30 AIR seems about right - haven't used one, myself, though it is on the 'want it' list - it has a reasonable capacity for cutting and it has a built in compressor so is very portable as it doesn't need a separate compressed air/gas supply.

They havent thought of everything though, you cant use cellulose even though it should having 90v open circuit voltage, unlike their cheaper machines (transpocket). You have to change liner for flux core, only one gas pipe is included as standard, consumables not supplied either, its a real pain buying one of these machines, expect to pay another half grand on accessories and significant time communicating with the supplier on essentials to get you started.

$2400? Could be a good price. A quick glance at duty cycle ratings leaves room for improvement. I don't know country of origin nor warranty details. It does have some sweet features neither of my transformer GMAW or MIG have. It's like motorcycles.. always worth looking at all the new stuff even if you don't want to buy it. By the way for a comparison my Miller Dynasty 210DX was $3650 for only the machine.

O ya, seriously..don't fret the price, I've been giggling like a schoolgirl with every pull of the trigger(after I figured out how to put it in " 'merican").....It's made in Austria(think BMW and Porsche)........hehe, went from a Yugo to a Porsche

I just got my Mig machine and haven't even used it yet. How will I know if mine can do aluminum?
@weldingjunkie
@weldingjunkie 6 жыл бұрын
That V12 Miata Bruh unless it’s a HTP Pro Pulse, Miller 350P or a fronuis most likely you need a spool gun. These 3 use mig whip torches to push aluminum for welding.
@ThatV12MiataBruh
@ThatV12MiataBruh 6 жыл бұрын
Welding Junkie here's the thing. The salesman told me that if I want to do aluminum, he will make me a 5 foot torch so that the aluminum wire will feed through nicely but there are no settings on the machine that seem to relate to switching over for aluminum welding
@weldingjunkie
@weldingjunkie 6 жыл бұрын
That V12 Miata Bruh technically you don’t need any setting for it that’s just synergic that has them. A 5ft torch might work depends on the drive roll system, Teflon liner etc. a 8ft torch will also work. Here’s the catch it can be done but not easy and hard to work with. Plus the tips typically have to be high heat tips or you’ll melt them. I’ve used it in non alum set up welders in the past. I wouldn’t bother with your machine. I like pulse aluminum. But bottom line is you don’t need a specific setting any mig “can” run the wire.
@ThatV12MiataBruh
@ThatV12MiataBruh 6 жыл бұрын
Welding Junkie I'm not concerned about the torch setup. I just want to know if there are settings I gotta change on the machine like when TIG welding aluminum its changed from DC to AC. My MIG machine is a dedicated MIG and my other machine is a dedicated TIG machine.
@mikeduhm5325
@mikeduhm5325 6 жыл бұрын
That V12 Miata Bruh setup is like steel, same polarity 100 percent argon gas. Without knowing the machine, is a spoolgun available? Aluminum uses a higher wire speed and voltage compared to same wire size and thickness on steel. For example with a Miller 252 and spoolgun with 4043 wire, about 20 volts and 360 ipm using .035 wire on 1/8" aluminum. More heat and faster travel speed than steel.

Just just a few things right off I see the Fronius offers 15 more amps of power, better duty cycle (Fronius is 100% at 150 amps vs Miller is only 40% at 150 amps), Fronius has a 5 foot longer gun, doesn't require a spool gun for aluminum like the Miller does (which is an extra $450 ) The Fronius is 4 lbs lighter and has High Frequency TIG start vs lift arc on the Miller....

That's one of the major problems with guys welding car frames building trailers and such . They start with the mig and have 0 skills or training, so away they go, great if it's on the flat, haven't a clue how to do vertical up, everything is down hand . Start out on a stick machine people learn how to set your machine, how manipulate the weld puddle in each position. Get the basics down and then give the old wire feed a go, welding was a two year course and out of those two years one week was dedicated to mig welding. That tells it all doesn't it, you can teach a monkey too run a wire feed, next time you hear about trailer being towed down a major highway and ending up causing a serious accident due to poor inconsistent welding, take heed wannabe welders cause lawsuits follow !

You got the skills, hard earned, which is great. However, that does not automatically mean that someone who hasn't put in the time can't do as well a job on the welds they do* - they don't generally need overhead, for example, or are welding critical sections and, even then, there are some very skilled and capable self taught people who actually care about learning. Here, certification is required for welders building heavy trailers and towing equipment and where it isn't, the work has to be checked and certified - still get failures, though, and a lot of those are due to subsequent damage, abuse and plain stupidity on the part of the user. Some, however is due to plain shoddy work by supposed expert welders, design engineers and certification of the completed work - been two instances where a certifier has had their authority recinded and vehicles ordered to stop towing until recertified by an authorised authority. *During your training, you will recall some who could just 'do it' right from the start and others who struggled and barely made it through.

Mig is easy, that's why it exists. It's also easy to end up with a great looking weld with zero penetration. I agree that people should learn to weld via stick or oxy for proper puddle control and positional welding, and that's how all of our welding courses are designed, but not everyone needs a 7 month 6 hour a day course like I had to take.
@1armedguy4
@1armedguy4 6 жыл бұрын
I guess my point I was trying to make FF scraped the top of your welding helmet. I know some people will never touch a stick machine, so be it, but basics is where you start no matter what type of process your about to use. In the offshore oil industry where the penetration, withe, height your rate of speed, amperage, etc are all under tight perimeters as per set process. With forty years in this business I've seen many people kicked down the road for not having the basics down . Just saying ! Have a splendid day won't ya !
