​@[VE.RA] I don't really find it "unnecessary" when I am a soldier who has pressed on year after year watching demons have no remorse for life or existence torture and murder humans literally for sport not just necessity of hunger, or rather thirst. As this particular soldier, risen the ranks, meaning I have put forth so much effort, I may as well breathe eat and shit demon slaying. Not to mention you are guaranteed an early painful and excrutiating death no matter how amazing you are as a demon slayer. I'd say his reaction is the least ridiculous. In their short lives they have been met with 100000% more hostility than what he shows here. A demon that had fooled my Master right in front of my eyes is even worse off, I'd sooner die than let something that has proven to be a monster throughout history kill any more innocent lives without proving it won't do harm.

@@azeem2671 basically sanemi has some rarest of the rarest blood which can even make upper moons drugged...and against his fight against upper moon 1 kokushibo he was fkin cut all over and his organs would've spilled out if he moved an inch ....but he was able to solidify his wounds and still fight the upper moon 1 until gyomei came to help....sanemi is a beast

Well, he instantly started making fun of Tanjiro and insulting his sister, even going as far as to stab her. So I don’t think it’s a big surprise that his first impression was received poorly. He wasn’t hated for “absolutely no reason,” the reason was that he was being rude and hurtful to Tanjiro and Nezuko. Nobody has the foresight to look into the future and assess his character based on information they don’t have, unless they’ve read the manga, but many haven’t (and even then they aren’t guaranteed to like him.) It’s true that other Hashiras were rude to Tanjiro too, but Sanemi took it a step further by trying to trick Nezuko into eating his blood so that they could kill her. Now I’m not saying I hate Sanemi. From the rest of the demon slayer corps’ POV I get why he’d be so forceful and wary of a literal demon among them. Just that by his actions it’s completely understandable why people didn’t like him at first sight.

They all do have a point on why they oppose the idea of a Demon Slayer travelling with a Demon in a box. They're Hashiras, people who have fought countless demons, I wouldn't blame them for being concerned and pissed at the idea. Also, for the fact that they (reactors) hated Rengoku at first because he is opposed to the idea is funny. Considering half of them (reactors) probably cried in Mugen Train.

@Lee Brown they arent thoughtless puppets. they are hashiras. they have the right to decide situation for themselves. also they were only discussing what to do with her. if they wanted nezuko dead, the scar dude would already killed her since he was the one carrying nezuko around. i think the reason why he stabbed her is to provoke and punish the newbie tanjiro for breaking the rules also theres a difference between a person's opinion watching something behind the screen and a soldier on the scene. they have to think and decide quick. if uve watched attack on titan, you would remember levi's words. "no one knows the outcome of your decision". to kill nezuko or to let her live. its something they have to decide for themselves. its something urukodaki reprimanded tanjiro too, when he ordered him to kill the demon and tanjiro was too slow to make a decision

Being strongest means you have to face the cruelest demon, see the most gruesome scene, fight hardest battle You are the pillar of support Giyuu said it all when he appeared first, not even the familial bond had overpowered demon instinct Giyuu saw it finally and gave them a chance What did other Hashiras had to go on? Nothing Just words from the brother of the demon and their sponsors who they didn't even get along with.... It’s insane how idiotic these people were. Nezuko is a demon. The hashira hasn’t seen anything about her, they only knew she was a demon. Gyomei was falsely imprisoned and almost sent death because of a demon, sanemi was brutally abused as a child by both his mother and father, and growing up he lost a large portion of his family to demons. I don’t understand why these people think that what sanemi or Any of the hashiras did is unjustified.

To be totally fair, that is a REALLY good test of Nezuko's restraint as a demon. Even if it wasn't Sanemi's intent. Sanemi stabs Nezuko the first time, just because he hates demons. Literally just "fuck this demon". He cuts himself to goad her into drinking his blood. -Sanemi is a Marechi, so his blood would be absolutely irresistible. -If Nezuko drinks the blood, she gains a taste for flesh and dies. -If she doesn't, that's some extremely good restraint. Still not good enough, though. He stabs Nezuko again, to anger her. -This gives Nezuko another reason to attack Sanemi. -If Nezuko takes the bait, she dies, and so does Tanjiro. -If Nezuko holds back, even after being stabbed repeatedly, angered, and being closely exposed to a Marechi with an open wound, that's proof enough that her restraint is the real deal, and maybe Urokodaki, Giyu, and Tanjiro had a point. It's extremely obvious that this was the case, but I still think it deserves mention.

Having finished the manga, I like revisiting this scene time and time again. I was an anime viewer first so I reacted a lot like them. It's easy to forget that Tanjiro has the advantage of literally sniffing out the demons' feelings whereas every other slayer have had to rely on instinct and experience. It's why I felt Tanjiro's comment about not recognizing good and bad demons was a little unfair of him. These Hashiras have met the worst of demons, seen humans desperately protect or hide a demon family member only for it to end in a greater tragedy. Hell, Sanemi himself had to kill a demon family member. Nezuko herself, despite being 2 years in, was close to losing herself completely at the Entertainment District. It's not a question of Nezuko's character, but of how strong the curse of demons is. Sanemi was still wild as hell during this meeting though but it's a little easier to tolerate it when we find out he's just like that with everyone lol.
