I'm more than twice your age..lol I never heard of them but I do remember having Mexican jumping beans as a kid in the 70's... I believe that the seeds are infected with a worm of some sort and that's what made them jump around..it was the worm moving around inside the seed/bean.. fyi they eventually died or made their way out of the seeds typically without anyone ever seeing it happen..it just left a tiny hole in the seed/bean
