comedians are forever ripping each other off. even in only fools, triggers broom was a gag originally from open all hours several years before. different writers, same gag. i see it a lot. i know of top comedians who make it their business to go to lesser known stand ups and take copious notes and use the material. def all ripping each other off lol (and this happens in tons of businesses too, all genres, even youtubers are always stealing each others ideas inc dl whole videos and reuploading)
