I had this exact model. I remember right at first I wasn't super happy getting it but I got tons of hours of entertainment playing with it.

Brings me back. I had that skull version you showed early in the video. Some of my associates (poor) from primary school used to go down the "farmers" department store and steal them. No, i didn't partake in that in that activity. I recieved mine as a Christchurch gift

I'm so happy to see this reviewed! I remember playing with these toys so much as a kid in the early 2000s as hand-me-downs from my older siblings. I never knew the name for what the toyline was until today. It was very satisfying to have the mystery solved by a random video entering my sub box.

Glad I could help! I feel like this is a line that needs to be talked about more often.

I loved mighty max growing up. The Grey Skull set was the first one I ever got. The cartoon was a ton of fun to watch back in the day as well. Thanks for the review. I hope you do more mightymax sets in the future.

Gotta get that Cyclops set! It was my favourite one growing up.

The Cyclops is such a great looking set. Part of me can't wait until I do more Mighty Max reviews because I still have so many sets to cover lol.

For whatever reason as a kid this was what I played with exclusively in the bath lmfao, always wondered what it was nice!

Love Mighty Max as a kid. I found 2 of the 6 sets I had as a kid, the cyclops and zombie hand one. I wonder if you have similar toys like Body Wars, War Planets, etc. I was a huge fan of these type of toys as a kid.

Hey JT, there was this line of toys that I can't remember the name of. *I think* they were blocky action figures, kinda square guys with stickers that you could put on for the faces and such. I remember them having L shaped hands and you could put them hand in hand and make a chain of them? Not entirely sure, but if anyone knows anything similar to this scuffed description, I'd love to hear it

Try looking up NakNaks. I'm 90% sure that's what you're looking for.

If you actually have that "The Shadow" cab from your intro PLEEEEEEEEEAAAAAAASE review it. I had this Kenner catalog as a kid and I used to stare at all the toys I would never get and the Shadow always felt like this long distant, amazingly dark and edgy action story I would never see. It stayed like that in the murky background of my brain for decades. Of course, three weeks ago I stumbled upon that exact toy catalog and decided to watch The Shadow with my wife and, suffice it to say....we were both unimpressed. Still, the cab looks awesome!
@JTMitchell874 жыл бұрын
Weeeeeeeeeeell... I can tell you that I do plan to do videos over the Shadow toy line at some point. I have all of the figures AND vehicles so I can promise one day I will cover the cab. It's not a GREAT toy, but it was one I played with a lot as a kid.

I still have my old set, but it's missing the Ape King figuring. Does anyone know where I can buy missing pieces? It would also be nice if the missing pieces were able to be 3D printed.
@JTMitchell873 жыл бұрын
Your best bet is eBay. There used to be a few sellers on there who specialized in Mighty Max playsets/accessories. I'd link you the one I used, but I think he's stopped doing it for some reason. Be sure to include searches for the UK. Max was very popular (and maybe made?) over there so there's often a lot of people who have pieces to sets. If I had the patience I'd love to try casting resin replicas for missing pieces, but that's such an endeavor and I don't trust myself to do it properly.

@@JTMitchell87 I have a friend with a 3D printer with experience in 3D modeling. If I gave him the dimensions and a photo, he might be able to reconstruct it.
