They forgot to mention that the Power Rangers only use their martial arts for defense and never to attack people. Furthermore, that is the idea behind martial arts and it teaches kids discipline and perseverance. As one of those little kids watching them back then in the 90s, that was my biggest take away from enjoying that show! 🙏🏼💪🏼💚

@patrick46622 жыл бұрын
lol I loved how the show always preached that - and yet they end up using martial arts and violence to solve literally every incident in every single episode. Not saying that isn't consistent with the 'defense' mantra because they never initiated the violence... but there's like 30 years worth of power rangers eps at this point and I can't think of one ep where they didn't use violence to solve the problem.

Sooo many memories that summer. I saw Power Rangers and Batman Forever the same week. I saw Virtuosity which was my introduction to both Denzel and Russell Crowe. I saw Under Siege 2 and I saw Judge Dredd. I saw Mortal Kombat which was frickin' awesome by the way! I even got the soundtrack for that! 95 was the greatest summer of all time. In terms of casting, there’s something really magical about the casting of the original Season 1 - 3 power rangers. It’s super hard if not almost impossible to recreate that type of chemistry. I feel like the later seasons of Powers doesn’t really hit that level of chemistry.
@blacklodgetoys2 жыл бұрын
They were still figuring out the Power Rangers formula. They spent a lot of time on casting the pilot and first season. My guess is more than later seasons.

I remember going to see this movie in a theater when it came out. Power Rangers were huge back in the day, but somehow, I believe the show started losing some of its' "muscle" when Austin St. John (original red ranger), Thuy Trang (original yellow ranger) and Walter E. Jones (original black ranger) left the show. From what I saw in a recent video, it seems like the cast were criminally underpaid, and those 3 were the ones that did not accept that and eventually left. Nothing beats the original cast. David Yost ("Billy") was my favorite, and I am so sorry he was severely harassed by the crew (not the cast, to clarify) during his tenure as a ranger. Also, RIP Jason David Frank. Seeing him here so young and full of life, and now typing this with him gone, demonstrates that life is very, very brief. I am so glad I got to experience the 90's. No major influence from the internet.

@Vynjira-chan Жыл бұрын
Well they probably got the question from half of the outlets that wanted to talk to them. You could see how annoyed some of them got, like this again? Honestly even outlets who didn't care about the Violence were probably still asking questions about it because the other outlets kept pushing the controversy angle and your outlet can't be the one that is seen as 'trying to hide the controversy.' You see this all the time today.. If an outlet doesn't cover something that has been turned into a controversy.. they're immediately accused of trying to hide it.. instead of realizing that it might just be that other people aren't bothered by the thing you're trying to turn into a culture war. I forget who it was but there was a segment where someone was asked about the controversy and they went off hard, and the interviewer was like "I'm sorry, we have to ask the question." and they were like "No you don't, it's an absurd thing to ask stop feeding into this made up controversy, you all know how silly it is but you keep asking these worthless questions anyway." Something to that effect.. I think Samuel L Jackson did something like that once getting fed up with an interviewer asking garbage questions..

@@blacklodgetoys I grew up in the 90s so yeah, different time but it surprises me how as an adult that so many people got up in arms over Power Rangers being violent when they never watched the show which would prove them wrong.
