Just an FYI about those scotch bright pads, the brown ones are for steel and there are blue ones for aluminium. There is also a whit disc with lots of little tentacles that are really good for removing gaskets without biting into the metal surface.

Good times of the old Forester XT. That's the car I own and you guys (as well as a knocking noise) really inspired me to check what's under the hood of it.

If you've not installed an under hood LED strip for general lighting it's a good mod for all cars. Great for any night work even for things as simple as checking fluids. Felt like commenting as I just am finishing up on adding a windshield interior LED strip, Underhood LED strip, and Trunk LED strip on my most recently purchased car. Strips are a quality of life upgrade but it's great as there are almost no shadows compared to single bulb dome lights and such. The under hood light is something I've been doing for ~8 years now and for a mod that takes less than an hour to install and wire up and is worth while.

How do you fix them to the hood? If its magnets, these subies have aluminium hoods iirc If its adhesive, I'd love to know how you manage the heat on them to keep it stick! Or if its drift stitches that also works haha

@@tinystar3010 See my dads channel "Claythargic", the video "97 Miata Lighting mods" for an example. The video was made for when we sold his car but I did all the lighting mods. If you try the same, DO NOT use the adhesive that comes on the LED strips. It's trash. 3M VHB Clear Mounting tape is the way to go. Luckily the bed LED tape adhesive comes off easy after a little heat from a heat gun.

@@lachychops2 3M VHB Clear Mounting tape. The key is to strip the crap adhesive that comes on seemingly all LED strips. Luckily a bit of heat from a heat gun is all that's needed to pull off the bad adhesive. See my reply to tiny star for a reference to a video I made for my dads miata before he sold it. I did all the mods and they lasted for years without issue.

It's so fun when these big Subaru projects align with my own. I recall wrestling with my own factory downpipe last year when I installed a new one, and was pleasantly surprised how much easier the job was when I needed to temporarily reinstall it over the weekend.

@@fd3s64 Listen dude ranch, I have owned more turbo Subarus than you can poke a stick at and been every on Subaru forum and social sites over the years and know what EJ can and can’t do and never blown an engine cause I understood the limits and didn’t drive it like a dickhead. What blows up an EJ is either one of or a combination of shit mods and tuning, shit maintenance and shit driving habits and dopes who think they can push a 15 year old 300k mile EJ with random bolt ons. You want to push real power, then build your farking engine to accomodate the power, nobody rides for free with an EJ, it’s no miracle engine, it is what it is, not race car engine but mass produced product with known limits.

Unless you want garbage fuel economy, keep the TGVs (the TGVs remain closed at cruising throttle to induce turbulence in the air flowing past the injectors which promotes atomization [better atomized fuel can be burned more effectively]). I know it's required for the COBB flex fuel kit, but since the GreenSpeed update here in the States, COBB doesn't even sell the flex fuel kit anymore. The way you have to do E85 now is to have a couple different tunes and an Innovate ethanol content gauge. Since you're running E85 on the stock turbo, the stock intercooler would have been PLENTY (due to the evaporative cooling). Would have liked to have seen a KillerB motorsports oil pan kit and an IAG AOS go on the car for reliability's sake.

AOS and Oil Pan are on their way, TGV's mostly for cold start. E85 still ok in Australia for now.

How are you planning on controller flex fuel,tgv delete codes, etc after the Cobb software change over the summer no longer allowing those tables available for editing? Or are things different for AU users vs US users?

Those wheel really do suit the Subi to a tee 😊 Subaru got this design right all the way back with the early Impreza WRX with blue bodywork and gold wheels. One of the few times that colour combo has ever properly worked. Certainly bringing out the Levorg's best Marty!!!!

I went with that same series for rear KYB struts on my Subaru Outback and it felt like a jumping castle even with king springs in the rear. Currently went with gen 4 liberty Bilsteins and couldn't be anymore happier.

Switching the downpipe makes the most difference ever. I switch it often for MOT and its horrible when the OEM is on. Cant wait for it to be tuned.

Love your work, this will be an awesome daily. Bit of advice with the locator rings, get yourself some Castrol copper coat grease and give it a very light coating to stop them sticking to the brake discs. Castrol copper coat grease also works well on anything to do with exhaust system bolts and nuts, highly recommended.

Guys, I'd love to see some content surrounding your audio install. I have an idoing in my 11 WRX and keen to see how you set up your EQ and what speakers and other audio gear you went with. Volume control is a bit of an issue with these head units so can't wait to see how your setup turns out. This Levorg build is by far the best series you've done in a long time!

As someone who is currently helping a friend replace an engine that failed due to a tiny part of a clip falling into the cylinder during a spark plug change I would highly recommend stuffing some clean rags into the intake manifold the moment you take it off especially when you are cleaning off the surface. Also I love these cars, would definitely buy one if the released a WRX spec
