@@andrearel3703 Yes, but I meant, it is not the whole thing, like in punk or metal. Nothing to make the sound any different or bigger than it is naturally. That sounds like Gretsch and Fenders. You can hear every note clearly.

Setzer has used the same rig for years: 2 1960's Fender Bassman amps with Chinese tubes, a Space Echo pedal and occasionally a Tube Screamer pedal. He definitely drives the heck out of those tubes, so the guitar sound definitely is distorted. I would also like to point out the Stray Cats toured with FOUR members including a SAXAPHONE, so there's that. But the number of musicians really doesn't have any bearing on the "quality" of the sound - Rush is a prime example.
@easypeasy2938
@easypeasy2938 8 ай бұрын
@@mr.anderson70 I can't imagine why a band would want to use CGI, pagers, dolphins or pizza parties, but I assure you Setzer's guitar rig includes several effects pedals and two heavily "modded" Fender Bassman. Pagers? What are you eighty years old?

Certainly one of the most underrated, as well. These guys meshed as a trio and set the bar very high for bands into rockabilly. Setzer's reverence for the origins of rock and roll is really admirable. His later orchestra work is incredible as well.

Fun fact for youngster musicians... many bands get paid a percentage of the bar. The stray cats did it textbook here. Start with 3 songs that'll make em wiggle, then do a slow song to make em rush the bar. No matter what genre you're doing, use slow songs in this way. That's how you milk a house. It works even better if you have talent.

Но в нашем, сибирском городке не нашлось, хотя знал многих меломанов. И только по приезду в Москву, в конце 80-х, через панков нашёл. Долгий был путь послушать их!

in the early 80s it felt like these guys were playing such an old style rock songs, but now, 40 years later, it seems like that old style was actually not so old in the early 80s

I am 65 years old and have probably been listening to music for 55 years and in very varied genres. By chance I fell into this concert, it's the first time I've heard this band and I'm more than surprised, they are incredibly good. I don't remember having read or heard about Brian Setzer, much less seeing his name among the best guitarists, which surprises me a lot. To conclude I want to say that it is (or was) an excellent band. MIG Music thank you very much for uploading this video. Greetings from Costa Rica. 🇨🇷 Pura vida!!

They were, believe it or not, popular in the punk rock scene initially. That's how I found out about them, back around 81-82. The first times I saw them they were opening for punk bands. They based themselves in England for awhile as well, early on.

@@stewpitteejit They made their name in UK in late 70s/early 80s and then supported the Rolling Stones (I think) on a US tour and got known back home.
