My father lived in LA in the 60s and he said they were busing homeless across state lines to there back then from other states. They would give them a few bucks and put them on a bus to Cali. There’s waaaay less room in NYC and already a huge homeless problem so it’s a bit overburdened right now. Even the rats are in the sidewalks now where you have to avoid groups of 6 or more while walking. I’ve never seen it like this ever. They squeak at you while you pass by too.
