Very often they themselves disable their own boat's exactly so they will be rescued... It's time everyone was reminded of the GLOBALLY recognised law... If you're NOT legally entitled to enter another country by the various means set out by that country, no matter how you do eventually get in STILL make's you an illegal... That country is perfectly within it's rights to take you back to the border & watch you leave.... Forget international maritime law's or whatever law's the EU & every civil rights/migrant charity say's... The UK has the same rights as the Italian's, Greek's & French, all of whom happily assist these immigrants to travel on into the UK... Don't talk such rubbish. The RNLI are there to save lives, rergardless of who they are. It is not upto the RNLI to determine what happens to those they save once they are brought ashore. As to this happening 4 miles off the French coast, that does not fit with Marine Traffic or Vessel Finder data from the time of the incident. The position of the vessels involved in this rescue puts the scene just over the French side of the maritime boundary, so the RNLI were as close to their home port in the UK as they were to Calais. But, hey, let's not let FACTS get in the way of a good biggoted rant. Oh, and I too pull my hair out at the FACT that the French escort these boats to UK waters without stopping them.

Some of thes people have travelled across the continent with passports and the correct documents, I may add. Yet they do not ask for asylum anywhere on their routes, refuse to be rescued at sea by the French, even in French waters, and then destroy their passports and identitfying documents. Surely that in itself is a crime? Why don't they want anyone to see their documents? Probably because they do not come from war-torn countries but from countries which present no threat to them at all. So they are coming under false pretences. Taking that which others might really need and then complaining about everything. That seem quite criminal to my way of seeing things. We have people of our own who desperately need what these opportunists demand but they are put to the back of the queue while people who've never contributed anything to this country, come in and are given priority. Where is the justice in any of this? There is none and that is why loyal, patriotic British citizens are so angry about it all. Rather than paying French to keep them out, start charging the French for rescue fees, and housing/detainment costs for the "rescued" seamen who made the dangerous crossing in unseaworthy craft, originating from France. Assume they are French vessels, with French seamen, only option is repatriation to France, do not allow them to claim asylum as they are pretty obviously French, originating from France, even if they have no documents.

What I struggle to understand is when these migrants arrived in Dover they were in need of medical help and taken by ambulance to hospital. When they were fished out of the channel only 4 miles from the French coast surely the closest medical aid IS France, not the 18 miles to the UK.

you shouldnt be pushing them back anyway just take them onboard the ship and take them back to france, have the police waiting at the other side for them and tell them to get off the boat in france then go back out and get the next one. if they refuse to get on the boat in the first place then use blocking techniques so they cant progress any further in the channel but not physically pushing them back as this may cause more issues and may be dangerous for our own boats and ships.

I live in France - the welfare state here is much harder to access - you have to pay for GP appointments and wait for a refund, can't get a refund without a card that shows you pay tax or are entitled to help. The British welfare state is far too open - this is a big part of the draw, plus I suspect the black market easier to work in, family already here and English language.

The RNLI have the answers to to why it didn't take the invaders back to Calais but it would seem they have a gagging order. If just one RNLI could be a whistle blower, then we might get the answer. If the policy is now revealed to include going within 5 miles of the French coast for pick-ups, and bringing them back to Britain rather than the nearby French... it seems to me that there ARE no limitations or barriers as to how far the RNLI and Border Force actually work to.
