Germany's population is ageing, and so is its population of former 'migrant workers'. Many have remained in Germany beyond their working lives, but even in a big city like Berlin, leisure services for such people are few and far between. We visit one project reaching out to such people.

I'm 54 and my wife and I are VERY worried about our future, gas and food prices rising daily. We have had our savings dwindle with the cost of living into the stratosphere, and we are finding it impossible to replace them. We can get by, but can't seem to get ahead. My condolences to anyone retiring in this crisis, 30 years nonstop just for a crooked system to take all you worked for.

I feel your pain mate, as a fellow retiree, I’d suggest you look into passive index fund investing and learn some more. For me, I had my share of ups and downs when I first started looking for a consistent passive income so I hired an expert advisor for aid, and following her advice, I poured $30k in value stocks and digital assets, Up to 200k so far and pretty sure I'm ready for whatever comes.

@@BlakeGabriel-23 The crazy part is that those advisors are probably outperforming the market and raising good returns but some are charging fees over fees that drain your portfolio. Is this the case with yours too?

Where is the support for homeless Germans, pensioners who have to work to make ends meet?
@alexds8452

Why are you mixing issues here? This isn't about homelessness. & It didn't seem like the center excluded anyone from their wkly meetings here! Also, why are you assuming these persons don't work? Many of them clearly HAVE worked, paid taxes, & into the required state pension programs. Given that many Turkish heritage folks have contributed to the re-buliding of Germany post WWII allied bombardment, it seems wise of their government to integrate this population, which they've sadly not acknowledged for long & inadvertently isolated as a result!

not surprised. Why? Cause that's my parents, too. They've lived in Ger & Austria since '79, but possess barely any A1 German skills. They can't say nor write even ONE sentence without mistakes. Not even one... I kid you not. It sometimes make me angry, cause I am pursuing a PhD. They find ANY exuse they can. They have zero Austrian contact, I have only Austrian friends. I am a sign that Austria's social mobility & successful integration works. And I'll be eternally grateful to the govmnt and people for having funded literally my whole life & education. It was not my parents, but the country. Eternally grateful!! I'll repay everything.

@@NoctLightCloud well if your parent didn’t go to Austria your wouldn’t have a PHD, so thank them in the first place for going to live in a complete different country with a different culture and a different language. And Austria is not a big model of integration, there is a lot of xenofobia. I bet your parents suffered a lot for giving you a future in a foreign country

This video should serve as a warning and cautionary tale for America: all of these "hard working" Mexicans in the USA who are in their 20s and 30s, will get old, stop working, and go on Medicare.
