Migrants shelter in New York City high school during winter storm

New York parents are frustrated after hundreds of migrants were sent to a high school during a dangerous winter storm, cancelling in-person classes for the students. The city made a call to evacuate the asylum seekers as the storm threatened the temporary migrant shelter.

It’s complicated. Some of them entered the country illegally (not at a designated port of entry) and then claimed asylum. Most of them have been processed through border security and are waiting for their asylum cases to be adjudicated which may take up to 4 years.

No matter how you slice it though all of the people pouring into the country are all coming into those issues & if you don't live in a city it doesn't seem like an issue but there simply isn't enough housing, space, and jobs for such a great influx of people at once.
