Migrating from Senegal to Spain: testimonies of those who survived the Canary Route

Migrate or die, a decision that thousands of people must make given the reality they suffer in their countries.
Why does a Senegalese pay thousands of dollars and risk his life to cross in boats to Spain, if a plane trip is much cheaper and safer? Simply because you cannot enter through official channels without a visa, and the procedures to obtain one are very difficult. They have what is considered a “weak passport.”
We travel to the field to investigate the topic, understand the reasons why they migrate, speak with survivors of the deadliest migratory route to reach Spain and also with specialists to better understand this problem.
