1 Corinthians 15:1-4 Authorized (King James) Version 1 Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand; 2 by which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain. 3 For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; 4 and that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures: Romans 3:23-26 Authorized (King James) Version 23 for all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God; 24 being justified freely by his grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus: 25 whom God hath set forth to be a propitiation through faith in his blood, to declare his righteousness for the remission of sins that are past, through the forbearance of God; 26 to declare, I say, at this time his righteousness: that he might be just, and the justifier of him which believeth in Jesus. 2 Corinthians 7:10 Authorized (King James) Version 10 For godly sorrow worketh repentance to salvation not to be repented of: but the sorrow of the world worketh death. Romans 10:8-13 Authorized (King James) Version 8 But what saith it? The word is nigh thee, even in thy mouth, and in thy heart: that is, the word of faith, which we preach; 9 that if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. 10 For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. 11 For the scripture saith, Whosoever believeth on him shall not be ashamed. 12 For there is no difference between the Jew and the Greek: for the same Lord over all is rich unto all that call upon him. 13 For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.

I kind of feel like this was a missed opportunity. There are so many questions that the interviewer could have asked but didn't. For instance: how does the village sustain itself? Do the blind villagers cultivate any particular valuable skills/abilities (such as being able to locate underground water wells) that sighed people generally are not able to access? How are life mates/romantic partners chosen when appearance is not a consideration? How do villagers identify/locate their friends in community gatherings? Etc...

His questions seemed pretty far fetched, there is so much I would just want to know about their daily life, how they gather and prepare food. Also his comments about the women’s veil were ignorant, it’s not because they’re veiled that the men want them to keep quiet and not speak. They’re just following their religion. He just needed to respectfully ask the leaders if it’s okay to speak with them and ask them questions.

Here in Australia, we had an amazing doctor, Fred Hollows, that conducted eye surgery for free in Indigenous communities. I thought about that in regards to this community....but thought No, these people have found balance. Would bringing 'our world ' to them Really make them happier?
@realdjtoddthunder1323Ай бұрын
@@susanjacquier5358 everyone would want modern comforts,,all the secluded tribes people always want help getting modern comforts,shoes,cloths, then theres people that say dont help them,leave them secluded ...thats the wrong thing to do,its seems right because you dont want to mess with their way of life. If you look into it,the people are begging to not be forgotten and not helped..they cant get medicine ,good knives ,hardly nothing
@susanjacquier5358Ай бұрын
@@realdjtoddthunder1323 I find it's a real conundrum. I would never begrudge people health services, clean water, education etc if those things would bring a safe and happy life. I guess my concern, is that with that comes 'the rest'. Would the fabric of their society break down and be forever changed? How would they adapt to 'our' way of living....considering the challenges of consumerism, alcohol, fair wage discrepancies, aged care.......the list is endless. Many of our Indigenous communities are damaged beyond repair. I wish I had the answers.

I am truly amazed at how the teachings of the Holy Quran have reached even the remote villages. It is evident that the behavior and etiquettes of the people here are shaped by their faith. This clearly demonstrates that religion does not propagate hatred; rather, it serves to dispel the misconceptions against Muslims

Notice that when the man was asked how many people in the village were blind, he said alhamdulillah (praise be to Allah) after mentioning each group- children, men, etc. The subtitles and dubbing did not mention the alhamdulillah. I’d like to listen to his original response in Arabic without the dubbing because the way he speaks is beautiful. So are the rest of them.

The women are not excluded because of their men. They are separated because of YOU as a stranger. We muslim women always cover because we dont allow strangers to see more than what we allow. And we dont like to speak directly to men because we are really shy and humble since you are a stranger. We are really open within our own family and between other women so we can be chatty and share happiness like any other woman.

What a superb account of your time among these people. I feel so much more grateful for things I myself take for granted daily, such as eyesight. The Imam had many insights as to whats really important in life and even with his visual limitations, he still shares his knowledge with the children. I am not muslim but still in awe that he memorised the Quran. An amazing legacy to leave indeed. Thank you for sharing.
