Zigbee2MQTT supprot for the Si Labs chipset is still experimental. Hopefully soon it will work properly. At this stage I would not be using it on a production system, just as I would not update the Sky Connect to the experimental matter support yet. Thanks for this great video showing how the ZHA to ZHA migration works. Glad to see it works so well. :)

Nice video, thanks! Personally, i feel HA should introduce an alias file where raw devicenames are mapped to a (display) alias. Shouldn't be an enormous job, since the display can be handled in de render function for the device. Also, it allows us to toggle between raw devicenames and aliasses when we want/need to.

You can obviously rename the devices. You can also change entity IDs. And in the 2023.1 release, you can actually create aliases for the entities.

Hi, well done. I appreciate the new migration tool from ZHA, but there is one point that gives me a headache! It concerns the renaming of the IEEE address from the new coordinator during this migration process. In order for the existing Zigbee network to function with the new coordinator, the IEEE address of the new coordinator must be renamed with the same address as the old coordinator... So far everything is ok and the Zigbee network seems working well. What bothers me, is that from then on the 2 Zigbee coordinators have the same IEEE address and this represents a big problem if you want to use the old one in the same Home Assistant instance. A second coordinator must have a different IEEE address and I don't know of any way to change the IEEE address again. This coordinator has actually become unusable for this installation!

Thats a nice surprise :) I wish you did one on the z2m to zha upgrade. I think of it for some time now, but worry to loose functionalities, especially with tuya thermostatic valves. And I presume there is no easy going back to z2m

I think that you can always stop ZHA and start Z2M again. ZHA creates new devices, so the old ones should be still there. I got everything working at the end, but I have no experience with the thermostatic valves - mine still use Z-Wave.

@@bruxy70 Hmm, did you have to build the network from scratch (repair them all) when moving to zha or is it just disable z2m->enable zha->all get rediscovered but under different entities/devices?

@@dziadeck47 I think there was an option to restore, from the controller. It basically kept the ZigBee network. But for HA it was all new.

There is no direct Zigbee2MQTT to ZHA migration. You can manually re-pair all your devices or you can use the zigbee2mqtt database backup, but there is no direct migration for entities and device ID's. As far as functionality, Tuya TRV's are supported in ZHA as far as I can recall, but you would be needing to rename all the entities and if your automations are based on Devices and not Entities, you could also be having to fix a lot of your automations. I would just stick to what you have if it works. If what you have works and has no issues, there is no need to change it.

Thanks for you video! I guess i need to figure out if i should migrate from my Deconz ConBee Stick as well. And out of curriosity… how do you measure your power consumption? Are those zigbee plugs? Cheers

Yes, most of them are Zigbee plugs (mostly bought on Banggood). Some Shellys.

Thanks for the great video. I tried to migratie from zigbee2mqtt to skyconnect, but unfortunately did not succeed. Do you happen to know how I should do that? I changed settings in Mosquitto broker and the mqtt addon but the addon does not connect to sky connect. I would appreciate a video on that subject

I did not try m2m with SkyConnect, I use ZHA. But it should work. Just change the device path.
