Hi, I need you advice please .. I've applied my EOI and ROI to Victoria, visa 491 with 85 points since 25 November 2023 as a Chemist with PhD and 10 years of experience - offshore .. I enhanced my PTE score and now my points for visa 491 are 95 points and 85 points for visa 190. If I changed my ROI from visa 491 to visa 190, will I have a good chance for invitation? or it's much better to stick to visa 491?

Dear Team at Migration Downunder, I am seeking your assistance regarding my current visa situation. I hold a 482 visa that is valid until November 2025. However, I am no longer working with my original sponsor. I have applied for a new nomination through a different employer, but new employer submitted both the nomination and the SBS application at the same time, and we have yet to receive approval for either. Given that I meet the qualifications for a 186 visa, I would like to know if I can apply for the 186 visa now, or if I need to wait for the approval of the SBS and nomination for my 482 visa. Are these all still going to be employer sponsored visas? Is there any good news for people who are doing skilled work, earning more than 135k but struggling get an invitation for 189/190 and also for whom employer sponsorship is not an option?

Yes, the Skills in Demand Visa is an employer sponsored visa. We have to wait for the legislation to be released before we can advise on who it is going to benefit the most.

Hi @siorencat, unfortunately, it is unlikely that you’ll have an opportunity in your occupation to gain a permanent visa for Australia as the requirement is that you are 44 years of age or younger.
