New Skills in Demand Visa Has Arrived! Visa Requirements, Process + More

On the 7th of December, immigration introduced the new Skills in Demand Visa. This will replace the previous 482 TSS Visa. Immigration also introduced the new Core Skills List which will be used for the Core Skills Stream of the visa.
Please note, the Specialist Skills stream, will be available for applicants in any ANZSCO occupation with the specialist skills income threshold of $135,000 or more (excluding occupations in ANZSCO Major Groups 3, 7 and 8 which encompasses trade workers, machinery operators and drivers, and labourers).

If you could upload this asap, this will get more attention: Changes to Temporary Residence Transition stream Applicants can count all periods of sponsored employment towards their 2-year work experience requirement. This does not just apply to employment with their sponsor. Applicants who have been employed in a related field or received a promotion can count this work towards the work experience requirement.

Yes, if you can get a company to sponsor you and meet all the other requirements, you should be able to.

Hi, I am a Data Scientist with one year of professional experience and an overseas degree, majoring in Engineering. As I understand, the 482 visa requires at least one year of relevant work experience in the nominated occupation or a related field, which I meet. However, I noticed that the ACS skills assessment for a Data Scientist role suggests that a minimum of four years of relevant work experience is required with my specific degree to meet the suitability criteria. Given this, I would like to clarify whether this means I would not be eligible for the visa, even though I meet the visa's work experience requirements, as I do not meet the ACS assessment's suitability criteria. Are there any alternative pathways that would allow me to obtain a work visa within a reasonable timeframe? I appreciate your time and assistance in helping me understand this matter.

Yes, you can as General Skilled Migration would require you to have qualifications and experience required for an occupation on Australia's Short Term or Medium to Long Term Skills Shortage List.
