Green Day: Catchy as hell. No wonder why they're one of the best bands in genre. Blink 182: Catchy but more Pop oriented. One of my favorite bands. The Offspring: Punk how its meant to be played. The Offsprings riffs are creative due to variety of styles they play. IMO: They Win. Sum 41: More Metal oriented. Their riffs are criminally underrated, particularly those from 2004 "Chuck" album.

Sum 41 is the most metal-inspired band, which keeps them lowest on the spotlight totem pole since metal has the least mass appeal. However, no doubt they are the best band in this list with the most unique riffs. In some albums they aren't even pop-punk anymore, just pure alt metal. It has always upset me that they got less popular as they got more metal because they are great.

I feel like blink was a poorly represented here since for two of the songs the chord progression was used instead of the riff like with Dammit the main riff wasn’t even played just the chord progression and that riff is one of their most catchy, other obvious picks that could have been shown would be M+Ms, Dysentery Gary, or dumpweed which are all more along the lines of a riff than the progression to Dammit or What’s My Age Again

Round 1 goes to Sum 41 as that riff was the most unique out of all of those 2 goes to The Offspring because The Kids Aren't Alright is pretty goddamn complex in comparison to the rest Round 3 EASILY goes to blink-182. Wasting Time is an amazing song. (Know Your Enemy gets beaten by pretty much any Offspring song really) Round 4 goes to Sum 41 lol It's pretty hard to beat Grab The Devil

@@darkduane1 actually Green Day formed the same year as The Offspring when Billie Joe was just 12 with Raj Punjabi and Mike Dirnt under the name Blood Rage, I also don't see The Offspring in Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, and I did say many Rock artists, not just the ones in this video, Blink was inspired by Green Day which was when Mark Hoppus was trying to learn the bass parts of J.A.R. on guitar but failed and it became What's My Age Again, and on the official Wikipedia for Sum 41, quote, "Sum 41's influences include NOFX, All, Black Flag, Fugazi, Pennywise, Rancid, Superchunk, Weezer, Beastie Boys, Bad Religion, Buzzcocks, Nirvana, Ramones, Social Distortion, The Offspring, Foo Fighters, The Police, Judas Priest, Iron Maiden, Guns N' Roses, Metallica, Anthrax, The Vandals, Megadeth, Dio, Slayer, No Use for a Name, Carcass, Elvis Costello, Run-DMC, Lagwagon, Face to Face, Devo, Rob Base and DJ E-Z Rock and Green Day." Sum 41 and The Offspring all the way. Just prefer they're sound overall. Blink's new stuff along with Green Day is kinda lackluster. The Offspring's new record was good enough. I saw this video some time ago. sum 41 is truly my favorite band, they are favorites among absolutely everyone. they are greatly underestimated, as for me. I love all albums, I like both the old sound and the new one. they have changed quite a lot, although they still did not leave the genre. blink-182 is also an awesome band, although not quite with my sound. green day is also cool, a person very close to me loves them, and I like them. the offspring are incomparable, I love them too! all four of them definitely deserve recognition, I love to listen to each group from time to time.

All these bands peaked in the early 2000s except the offspring. In my opinion offspring are the best of all these bands by far and they were much more impressive pre pop punk in the late 80s/early 90s
