Mercy, Roy Clark was certainly a very talented guitar player and enjoyed him for years!

As much as I love Roy's music, this one suffers. It's like his heart wasn't really in it.

Not taking anything away from Roy Clark. My favorite is James Burton. Oh how he could play. Listen to James with Elvis of his rendition of Johnny b Goode. Enjoy ☺️

Technically Clark was a much better guitarist than Berry. Way better.....and sadly underrated.
@rickyusa10004 жыл бұрын
There would be very, very few guitarists who were technically better than Roy Clark. But Chuck Berry is, was and will always be Chuck Berry, the true king of rock and roll. Roy was great but Chuck inspired a generation of young guys learning to play the guitar.
@decadantdog44444 жыл бұрын
Chuck Berry wrote numerous classic rock and roll songs. Roy didn't. He was an interpretator. You don't hear other artists doing Roy Clark songs. But yes, he was one of the greats. Glen Campbell would tell you that.
@dagr.johnsen21644 жыл бұрын
@@decadantdog4444 Berry's only number one hit was the foolish "my dingaling" in 1972. Not much of an achievement if you ask me. That said...I love Chuck Berry.
@dagr.johnsen21644 жыл бұрын
@David Tucker And Glen Campell as Decadent Dog mentioned. Another great country guitarist was actually Hank Snow. Many don't know that. And let's not forget Hank Thompson, Merle Travis...or the fantastic King of strings Mr. Joe Maphis.
@kevindean13272 жыл бұрын
@@decadantdog4444 That's a dumb comment. Like John Lennon said, "If you were to give Rock and Roll a different name you'd call it Chuck Berry". There are a hundred KZbinrs that are technically better than Chuck but no one does Chuck better than Chuck!!!!

These are all fine musicians, but this is not a good cover. They should have listened more carefully to the original.
