Yes, it's achingly similar, in lack of other words. Such a shame Mihaly Vig is not getting the credit for so many feature films that - one way or the other - feature his music.

The scene with the whale is one of the most striking in the entire history of filmmaking.

The gates of heaven opened and God landed in the middle of a cold landscape full of melancholy, what a beautiful, poetic and soul-shattering piece of music. Mihály Víg and Béla Tarr are both Genius

I read a poem with this song in our high school graduation. The poem was "Elimden Gelen Bu" from Attila İlhan. I miss my past.

for me Hungary is the old man who is standing by the wall during this music in the hospital in Werckmeister Harmonies. Even the most evil one stoped when see him because how can you destroy that man who has been already destroyed?

When I was a student teacher in a school that has been gone long ago that was isolated in the Flint Hills, there was a highschool student, a young man who dressed poor but had strong boots built for construction work and we took off during a break to go find this old car that was abandoned in a winter burned field, when we got to it the student lifted up the detached car door and a rat that had taken cover under it started to run and the student stomped on it and killed it immediately, so striking like a part of a Bela Tarr movie.
