Our cheer team was awesome! (I might be bias because I was captain) we focused a lot on stunts because that was what got the crowd pumped. A lot of cheer is turning into a sport called “stunt” it’s a shame that some schools still have unspirited teams, however lack of funding and the media always making cheerleaders look bad really discouraged a lot of people. I would like to point out that this is a drill team not a cheer team. Hopefully one day every school allows cheer to be more competition/all star style!

As a person who's danced for 10 years I can say that the moves aren't all that complicated, but the amount of synchronization, and the use of cannons is just so pleasing to watch. I love finding gems like this because they make me so happy seeing stuff like this. Sure you can hit some of the coolest moves in choreography, but if y'all ain't in sync then it fucks everything thing up, so props to these girls for being so on the ball.

A little background information for anyone wondering🤗 This is a drill team. There is a cheer team too, but what we do in drill is quite different. In drill, there are different styles of dance: military/drill (the sharp arm movements you see), Pom (kinda more “bouncy” with jumps, turns, & leaps), funky (more like normal upbeat dance), floor (on the floor obviously - and that thing when they were hooked up in two lines and used each other to move all at once, where the guy yelled, “what is that?!”, is called venting), kicks, ripples (in some sort of line(s) doing things in a ripple or synchronized movements, in which they try to line up their arms and body parts so it looks like one person from the front), and it’s not seen in this routine, but little hints of hip hop too. The team captains and lieutenants choreograph and teach the routines. This is for a school spirit assembly, but there are competitions too, which look quite different from this. The team also performs at football games on the field with the marching band doing get down and halftime, and at basketball and other games as well for halftime. Hope this helped^^

But as they are in cheer uniforms, and not any sort of dance or drill uniforms, I will still call them a cheer squad (as many cheer squads don't actually cheer on another sports teams, but are dancers & athletes in thier own right that compete themselves at their own meets & for their own championships by doing routines such as this).

this is so weird, I had friends that went to this high school, it's legit like 20 min away from me. we'd always play them in sports (and usually lose). their drill team was always sooo good, so this doesn't surprise me hahah. it's a drill team not a cheer team so that's why there's no pom poms and such, I think it's called military style? idk

I did JROTC I’m highschool and we had something called unarmed drill that was sort of like this but this looks more like a color guard team to me

as a former high school dance team coach I would say you're 100% correct and likely military style although in our state military is a bit more complex and rigid.

wow this is beautiful choreography! everyone is very synchronized and i love everything about this. i feel like cheerleading is not as appreciated as other sports. i’ve never done cheerleading before, but i think cheerleading takes lots of strength and team work, i want to join a cheer team, but i can’t stir up the courage to join.

Most of what they did could be done by any of us. It's the synchronization that is really on point here and what gives it that kick. Their coach did a great job of working with what she had and turning it into gold.

It was good don't get me wrong. However I was a little underwhelmed, I was a dancer all my life, and on our dance team. The only thing I was really impressed by was the end with all the hand and arm movements. That was by far the most difficult thing.
