I know two comments are usually kinda lame, but for some unknown reason, this fan-made Mii Maker track for the Switch has been stuck in my head ever since i listened to it for the first time, and it has become as iconic as the Wii U, 3Ds, Tomadachi Life/Collection, Miitopia, and even Wii Mii Maker themes to me. TL;DR, You are doing something very right my friend. I hope you achieve all that you strive to achieve, because in my opinion you more than deserve it.

I really appreciate it! The reason for that is I noticed how the 3ds mii maker theme had a similar atmosphere to the wii's, so I made the switch's like the wii u's! I'm glad you hear it :D

@@ThaddeusSilva 3DS and Wii mii maker themes (especially 3DS) are incredibly similar to Brazilian bossa nova (see "samba de verão" vs. 3ds mii theme) but the Wii U, while still being bossa nova, has a completely different atmosphere. I really do like the Wii U tracks, and this gives a very similar feel!

I too hold this sentiment, I've heard that he was one of the main people to push for music on the console menus. Him passing before seeing the switch's development cycle finish is definitely a factor in the lack of music on the switch. At least we know the concept of the switch was one of his last gifts to the world.

Anyone else feelin a little Wii U? Seriously though, I will NEVER forgive Nintendo for not adding music in the Switch. Home screen, eShop, News, Settings, Album, Mii Maker, etc. It just makes this Wii U "succesor" feel bland, lifeless and boring. And that used to be Nintendo's whole thing. It's a shame

What did you use for this? Yamaha/Roland? Sounds so official..

This was when I was using all stock sounds, and EZDrummer for the drums, all of the synths in this piece are made from scratch! Using the synths from the Wii U's Mii Maker theme heavily for reference. All of the traditional instruments I used like Upright Bass, Nylon Guitar, Accordion, & even the Vox sound in this theme can be found in Pre Sonus Studio One's sound packs, though I'm not sure which ones. The trick I used for the vox was using the shift feature on Studio One 3's version of the Presence plugin and putting it all the way in the desired direction for that "Wii U" sound. I am starting to use a lot more Roland sounds though!

Hopefully when Nintendo releases that new system that they're working on they realize the mistakes they did when designing the UI for the Switch. Personally, I like the simplistic UI, but it's just too bland. On the other hand, the Wii U had tons of personality and I loved it's menu. I think a nice middle ground would work here, a simple UI with something here and there to make it stand out.
