Miirym, Sentinel Wyrm EDH | 2024 Deck Tech | So MANY DRAGONS!!

This is basically my first version of Miirym. The first instinct is to jam a Miirym deck full of dragons, BUT if you lean into the copy mechanic into Simic shenanigans I guarantee you will have more fun. Take the best 10 or so dragons, dragon tempest, conjurer's closet, thassa deep dwelling, then every copy spell you can fit into the deck. You're welcome 😁

My favorite magic card fits beautifully into this deck, Somberwald Sage, as she comes down early and taps for 3 mana, letting you spit out dragons before your opponent knows what's happening. If you're leaning heavy into treasures, Magda (Brazen) is a dragon tutor/dump stick. One could build an entire new deck with just suggested cards. The temur colors are so rich for big stompys!

My absolute favorite commander to play. You're missing so many have to have cards in this deck. CRYPTIC GATEWAY artifact they you tape two dragons and you can cast a dragon from your hand. And Scourge of Valkas

This looks super annoying to deal with (which is how i gauge the power of decks) so good job! :D I'd love to see your take on Ranar. I feel like he's a bit underrated since he doesn't really do what one would expect. But me thinks he could be quite powerful in the right hands.

Very annoying, so much so that I opted to build it myself after my friend Tim just harassed tables with it... but very susceptible to board wipes since there's no mass rez without black... unless you're crazy enough to run Grimoire of the Dead! I just run Wrap in Vigor as a second budget Heroic Int

I would consider Monster Manual and Sunbirds Invocation for cheating in some of these dragons. Also, Lorzhan to have a second Dragon Tempest effect.

Elvish piper and Lurking predators are VERY heavy hitters in my miirym deck. But then again mine is more clone, blink & creature focused

My initial build included Deadeye Nav and Rapacious Dragon/ Ganax for infinite blinks, which is a win of anything like impact tremors, tempest, or Scourge are out... and Tooth and Nail or Defense of the Heart to fetch them onto the field.

haha! It's so much fun. fortunately i had most of the cards laying around or in other decks so i snagged them to play it a few times before i put the video together, but honestly, SHE DOES SO MUCH WORK you could just about put any dragons in there and you'd be good to go!

Seems to be a pretty basic Miirym deck. "Grab a bunch of dragons and throw them in there." Just a view thoughts from me: - Theres nearly zero protection for Miirym, a kill on sight commander. Not clever. - You need a stronger mana base. Since Miirym is quite expensive, and eats removal regulary, youll need a shit ton of mana to recast her. - Have a look on the smaller dragons. Ganax, Livaan, Nimbleclaw Adept and so on. In big numbers they can bring the difference - How about the blue flicker spells for protection? After four months i think you had some games with her? How was it if yes? Would love an update if you changed the deck.

I haven’t played it as much as I would like but, it’s been a blast! 35 lands with 6 mana rocks, 3 land ramp spells, lightning graves and swiftfoot boots, counters and deflecting swat, and like 5 cost reduction spells, it’s been pretty consistent! I have added a few new cards, last March of the ents can really be a huge play and has been fun. Phantasmal image is fun to copy your best dragon or opponents creature. But most of my tweaks have been minor. Would love to see your build!! That’s the beauty of Magic!
