the deck is already really well put together too with multiple lanes you can pick. Also, you can play it with mogis or lord of pain as your commander as well. I like lord of pain stacking more things liks zo-zu, mana barbs, bowman exquisit blood, archfiend, and drain effects. I also think razorkin needlehead from duskmourn hasnt gotten appreciated yet because the draw ping hits any card, not just a card after their first like bowman.

Problem with the pre con is triggers/timing. He only works on the target opponents turn right?

@@dannyfrisby7851 That is his flaw in 1v1. you can't bring lord of pain out of the command zone and then cast a spell on your turn to trigger, you have to wait for your next turn to ship off something like blasphemous act. But, if you can bring him out and protect him for a turn, the ammount of pure dmg he puts out in a full 4 turn cycle is nuts. The deck is still really good, but it makes games really fast. with only about 12 upgrades ive played 4 times, 1 3rd 2 2nds and 1 1st at my LGS. also played with friends and performed similarly well, and my friend group has much stronger decks. The one major factor with this deck is it makes games very fast, but it also can make a stale board state act more. my work playgroup likes it because it adds a clock to games, so you are guaranteed to finish a 4 player commander game in under an hour.

Backlash and Unlicensed Disintegration are two niche instants you might want to consider, also added Bloodletter of Aclazotz and Copper Tablet, also since there's so many damage doublers I threw in Rush of Dread as a potential player removal

I'm so excited for this! Definitely a long the lines of what I'm going to be doing! I'm one of the nastiest Rakdos players around that I know of as it's rather limited on players here and I still need to get spell table set up but I guarantee once I do I shall be known! And this deck will be a big part of it ❤

Looks like solid upgrades to me. I do have one major concern though (that requires more testing on my part). I see a lot of youtubers take out all the burn on your own turn cards as they do not enable Valgavoth. However, you don't actually need all that many burn cards on the opponent's turn - just enough to consistently enable Valgavoth (so maybe 10-15?). That leaves a lot of space to do something else, which will either 1) hurt more or 2) protect you better. Instead of just going all in on burn on opponent turn cards, try swapping burn on your OWN turn cards out for more effective versions , OR sacrifice/aristocrat sub-theme, OR discard sub-theme, OR pillowfort/stax. sub-theme cards. I suspect this might work better. Coming from a guy who got crushed by Sheoldred main time and time again, due to the draw related burn in combination with stuff like no mercy and tergrid :) Can't do anything about burning to death if you can't attack and have no cards in hand...

Black has good draw for lifeloss, red has good draw for discard or into exile you can cast from, I think rakdos isn't among the combinations that are crying for card draw. (That being said, I love Valgavoth and just got my copy today, so I'm certainly not saying he's not great :3)

I;ve learned that the longer you can keep him OFF the battlefield, the better. I only bring him out for card draw or if im not the obvious threat. I try and kill my oppensts by slowing pinging them for one, then 2, then 2, then 1 again...... I had to change my style of play with him. Hes too scary and becomes an instant target. Burn is fun either way.

I’m adding psychosis crawler and peer into the abyss, peer can be a KO combo with draw lose 1 on an opponent or use peer on myself , while crawler is out every card I draw they lose 1 life

Valgavoth can also play a lot like a Rakdos version of a Sheoldred deck. Except, card draw is in the command zone, and the slugging is in the 99. More tools at your disposal too since you are not limited to black. Can still throw Sheoldred in the 99 too :)

Personally, I don't like this Valgevoth. His effect only triggers once each turn. If doesn't matter if an opponent loses 1 life or 10. Plus, he's only going to be useful in a pod. If I were to have designed the card, I'd either make the effect convert that first life loss into a horror token, or keep the original effect and include yourself. With the first idea, he not only rewards you for being able to deal a ton of damage at once, but he gives you tokens to attack with, block with, or sacrifice. The second idea would let you trigger him on the turn he's summoned, making him a 5/5 and drawing an extra card. Personally, id put him in the 99. He'd be useful to several commanders, but I don't see him as a good commander himself.
