Being perfectly honest, I hope that is not the case. It essentially means most people are not going to pay attention to the 'me' part of Mii. They were designed as simple avatars that...with enough effort can really end up being something really amazing. That's kind of why I find the 3DS Mii characters so cool. Because with the limits of the Mii Maker, we could create some really nice characters who can even resemble our favorite fictional characters. But now....those Miis just *become* the characters we intend to create. They just...don't feel like Miis to me. Honestly, I'm...not really sure how to feel about the revamped character customization being the highlight of this game when the game itself is amazing as well. And I see absolutely no one talking about the quality of life changes that make things so much better for 3DS players like myself.

Something about journeying with my favorite characters is far more appealing to me than traveling with vaguely representative versions of them or people I know irl. I actually enjoyed this game a lot when it came out on 3DS - I really like how the characters' classes, skills, personalities and interpersonal relationships all *constantly* interact with each other, it does a lot to make each enemy encounter feel like more of an organic, albeit deeply silly, conflict involving a diverse group of people, rather than just a series of mechanical inputs - and I'm seriously tempted to get it again just to play through it with the more detailed Miis

Never played this on 3ds, tried the demo on switch and... Can confidently say this review is accurate AF. The battles and travel segments are a bit tedious, and interactions with standard miis are meh, but those same interactions with the 3 to 4 Mii friends we actually bothered to make on switch were HILARIOUS. Seeing my stoic friend played out as a flamboyant pop star is what dreams are made of. I won't rush to buy this game, but I'll spend time here and there slowly building up Mii army so that when I do, I'll have no shortage of miis to choose from. Stopping and having to make them during gameplay would be tedious for me, especially when you can customize then further with the makeup and wig tools, so I'd rather do that in my own pace and import them once I'm ready to give the game a second go.

David Bowie's persona with the Lightning bolt on their face was not Ziggy Stardust (I'm sure you were just referencing what the person who made the Mii named the character). This is a super common misconception (so common that if you look up Ziggy on Google Images, the first few are that of the iconic lightning bolt), But the persona with the lightning bolt was Aladdin Sane, while Ziggy Stardust had a gold circle in the middle of their forehead.

it would be cool if the outing included a minigame. fishing could be a simple catch a fish game, cooking could be a game where you make your food, karaoke could be a rhythem game like that one machine in splatoon, shopping could be a game where you catch falling food, cafe could be a game where you spam buttons to see who can finish their food first, seaside could be a surfing minigame or like a shell finding one. cinema could be one where you do the right reaction during a 30 second movie (this one is confusing and not that good) library could be a memory game. ranch could be a game where you have to keep the animals in the pen, garden would be a one where you have to keep bunnies or other animals away from your plants, gym could be a game where you try to get as many reps as posssible, and idk what else. im sure there is more outings, but these are the ones i currently have and can see on my list of tickets.

Honestly, after playing the demo and wanting more, I caved and bought the ds version (dirt cheap may I add) on Amazon. And man was it a threat! A few highlights from on top of my head: * Eggman as the first land king. Trump, Will Smith, Snoop Dog and friggin Putin as guards. * Having two Mortys (Hero character included) in the party. Extra hilarious when they fight each other since they both sound like Morty. * The god dammed elf dance at the end of the third land. * Shaggy as the explorer guy. (Also really good Shaggy Mii.) I'm looking forward to doing it all again on the switch.

For me since I have the 3ds version, it a Maybe for the switch version, one is because I already know the ending for the game and Hidden Jobs, two the switch features a Inn cutscenes like the horses name, three there are new features that makes it more easy, the horses is basically a trump card, if you use the Horse whisperer skill, over your Mii Not having any Mana points, but the makeup system is great for people to create crazy Miis or creepy ones like the Demon Pikachu

I literally just came in here to say i bought the game on a whim 2 nights ago, stayed up til 4am working on my first 2 miis and then stayed up til 3 last night refusing to sleep until i completed every area up until the end of Arid Frontier. Whether u make up characters on the spot, add your favorite fictional characters, make your OCs, fill it with memes, or idk, put you and your friends in it, the RPG itself is genuinely engaging. This game for me is like they looked at the funny character moments from naming your party pop culture references in Oregon Trail and made a whole game based around that.

I still wonder why they haven't implemented a "mii transfer" service between switch and 3ds. Now I'm going to have te recreate 86 highly detailed mii's

I think it's really hilarious with some of the situations I've created (like Lovey-Dovey Couple Mario & Waluigi) but after a little while, it began to get tedious.

It was better when we had the mii central section to just browse and download the miis to easily fill the slots

I loved miitopia on the 3DS so I literally screamed when it was announced and got it launch day. i love it. Even after playing through it 3-4 times on the 3DS I still love it now that it's on the switch.

I just marathoned the original, and it was still fun the 3rd time around. The game did become kinda boringly easy after Greenhorne, but it picks right back up again at Karkaton, the fun lasting all the way to the end! Currently in the postgame now, albiet using a different team currently. Also, the new Makeup makes way for some *seriously* impressive Miis! The game is worth it for that alone. It would be nice if you had the option to control Miis in the postgame - even just one that isn't the protagonist would've been nice, especially since there's no way to level down.
