Friday will officially be changed to WAR10 day! Though in all seriousness, I’m definitely looking forward to this game. As we haven’t had a traditional console WarioWare game since Smooth Moves, and since I haven’t played a WarioWare game since then, I’m definitely diving into this one faster than the characters go inside the game.

...He's had like 6 or 7. Granted, the first Wario Land was still a Mario game with largely Mario-style gameplay similar to SML2, so I guess that one wasn't completely unique, but then there was VB Wario Land, Wario Land 2-4, Wario Land Shake It, and Wario World, and unlike the first Wario Land, the later ones are much more unique and not as dependent on Mario-style gameplay.

THE TOOTHPASTE GAMECUBE DISCS!!! So back then, if your gamecube disc wouldn't work, a possible remedy was to use toothpaste. Maybe it got rid of debris but not the scratches.

I'm glad they didn't do that, actually. While I loved Wario Ware Twisted, I think adding different types of controls undermines the simplicity that makes the original great. I imagine many people (myself included) would get quite frustrated if they had to ask themselves at the beginning of each minigame, "Okay, do I use button controls, motion controls, touch controls, or the camera?"

I'm okay with it not. Wario Ware Gold was a good celebration of all the gimmicky hardware-reliant stuff they used up until that point and it doesn't need to follow up with more of the same. I enjoy the new direction for this game.

I saw some footage here and there I'm kinda bummed they returned to status quo on this one from the vibrant voice acting and cartoon shorts of Warioware Gold. It filled us all with optimism for the future of the series back then.

Yeah, the lack of voice acting was a missed opportunity. I do feel that the character interactions before the stages more than make up for it, though.

On the plus side, we won’t get people complaining about the voice acting. I legit saw someone say the English voice acting in Gold was “fake audio”, and that they wanted to play with “real audio” (Japanese). I guess Charles Martinet is fake.

Does anyone really take guidance from IGN? I love their podcasts but find their scoring off at times, I guess all reviews are the opinion of a single person. Either way I’m amped for this the demo is quality. On a side Shift Happens is on the craziest sale, pick that up last night and seems fun.

It's a bummer that lag and latency would ruin any sort of online play. Though with the Big Brain Academy announcement it'd be nice if it could get a similar system to download ghost data. One can dream. 🙂

I can't agree that this is the best WarioWare to date. It's good, it's REEEEEALLY visually polished, but... Idk, it lacks something that the other ones up to Gold had. Maybe I just miss the different control schemes from Smooth Moves and Gold.

I think these games are so much fun with friends even before it had multiplayer. You would try and get the highest score possible and then pass it to your friend for their shot. This was back in the DS Lite days me and my mates would play the crap out of it.

What I'm curious to know about is this, in the case of two player characters like Kat & Ana and Dribble & Spitz, is it possible to choose one or the other in single player mode? Like instead of playing as Kat you could play as Ana who to my knowledge is only playable in 2 player mode is what i'm asking.

The Mario party would be worth it more than this imo, since mario party is a bit more kid friendly, especially if they’re younger. The new MP is going to be porting aspects from the previos games so honestly I think stick with MP and if you wanna try warioware, you can get the free demo on the eshop
