MIJ Bass Battle of 1985! '85 Ibanez Roadstar 2 Deluxe RB760 vs '85 Roadstar RB650!

Here's a bass tone comparison demo I've always wanted to do. It's lick-for-lick battle of major Ibanez 80's passive MIJ P+J bass goodness! We have the classic Fender looks of the 1985 Roadstar II RB650 vs. the funky Deluxe RB760 with it's giant JV7 and P5S pickups. Both are played through the same patch on my Zoom G1xOn guitar processor.

Almost everything Ibanez made from '79 - '85 is great. The basses of this era have a certain something that just feels right when you play them.

The RB650 has a bad ass headstock. and it’s a great instrument.

I have the same bass, black with the red piping, except you adjust the trust rod off the bass of the neck, and the pickups are pre in the middle and j close to the bridge, still trying to identify the year

That rb 760 sounds very Warwick ish….I actually prefer the rb650, with a bit more volume. All the early Japan Ibanez are over achievers…love them

Back when ibanez still had style...all their current models with the possible exception of the talman are ugly as sin
