You’re obviously not of knowledge in correctly adjusting the truss-rod. Because it’s a five minute job, not a half hour…….!

Question: Was the pickup pan on the red bass turned all the way to the neck pickup for this vid? Great demo! Thanks!

I have an 80's Dean bass which appears to have the same problem. When as is said and done how much clearance on the strings should there be down near the 12 -19 frets (shortscale)?

The cobalt strings have a great piano like snap to them. best strings I’ve ever played. They are BRIIGHT out of the box though, I don’t recommend them for any older styles of music 40s-60s unless you have a decent multi-band compressor, or are sidechaining a compressor to an eq to soften the transient.

Is there anyway you can send me a photo of how those batteries are wired in that G Bass? My wires came out of the 9volt connectors and I want to make sure I re wire them correctly

I love this comparison for I absolutely loved my 4-sting US Cirrus, but had to sell it to buy 5-string US Millennium. Both instrument are solid, and have served their purpose well, but my heart still goes for the mighty Cirrus. That Cirrus mid-tone slap just goes beyond Warwick tones... Just punchy/crisp at the same time...
@scandicmonkey
@scandicmonkey Ай бұрын
And for a notion: Millennium has much broader EQ-settings, which can create Cirrus-kind of sounds and much more, but with bad settings the sound goes terrible wrong. Thus, I love the Cirrus for it's simplicity, and any way you set it or play it, it still sounds solid.

The major difference in tone is because of the pickups spacing. The neck pickup is closer to the neck on the axcellerator and that's why its sounds thicker in tone

This is the exact issue i had with my Les Paul guitar. Every other video i found said to tighten the nut. I quickly realized that the nut was tight but the spring needed a tiny bend. Put it back together and the cable was tight. I really don't understand why checking this isn't in every video out there.

Both basses sound really great. They each have their own characteristics and personality. The Geddy generally sounds better fingerstyle, due to the enhanced lower midrange. The Sire sounds much better slapped due to the slightly scooped character of the pickups, but that can be easily compensated for by engaging the active preamp. When plucked hard, the Geddys pickups are so hot that it almost gets a little overdriven when pushed hard, which is great for rock and roll, but you might want to back the volume knobs down just a hair for smoother styles. I observed the same differences between my own 2nd gen Sire V7 (fretless) and Fender USA Geddy Lee.

I just purchased a EB-0 for my son. He is going to be 29 and has a TBI (Brain Injury) He has some stroke like weakness on his left side and I thought the shorter scale would be easier for him to learn on. I play guitar a little guitar and as I told him. Son, I own 7 guitars because I want deferent sounds. I am proud to gift you number one. Thanks for the review, I will have him watch it.

Loosen the string a bit more and pull harder. Slap the shit out of it. Pull at the 12 fret a bunch of times. I've been doing it for several years. Works great. Saves a lot of money.

the SR may be better in the every possible way ("objectively" speaking) but to be honest I still prefer the TMB because I think it is way more comfortable to play due the offset shape and it is more unusual so it stands out a little more, I would put some EMG GZRs on it and be my main gigging bass no problem

No way material is the difference, sound comes from vibration of the string in the electromagnetic field created by the mic.

... you DO NOT mic any speaker by placing the microphone aiming at the dust cover / place the mic in the center of the cone between the dust cover & the outer surround of the speaker / then you might hear a difference ... DUH !!!

I think KZbin is a great resource. Look up people doing lessons on 70's and 80's rock. Another great resource is something called "Guitar Pro" bass tabs. "Guitar Pro" itself is a paid program but you can find many tabs out there for free. There's a free player called Tux Guitar that you can use. What's great is that unlike a tab book (which can be stupid wrong!) you can hear the songs as they were entered. So if it sounds bad when you hit play, move on to something better. Often the tabs have other tracks like drums and guitar and keyboards and you can slow them down or speed them up without things sounding weird.

Great demo : I guessed right for tube, more "klank" on the top end, but was also aware that I would have eq'ed it differently to get a fuller sound like the more mid-heavy solid state. Also I would have tried using a booster to push the tube...
