A day trip from Marbella to Mijas: La cala de Mijas has amazing housing options due to its amazing location. 15 minutes drive fromMarbella and 10 minutes from Fuengirola.
Only half an hour from Malaga the capital of Costa del sol.
we visited Cabopino beach where they have Andy´s beach and Playa nudista(Nudist beach).
After that we made our way to Mijas Pueblo with beautiful views of the mediterranean sea and wonderful Calle San Sebastian.

As a Mijas resident, I'm very pleased you didn't ride the Donkeys. Although things have improved slightly, they have been badly treated over the years and there has been a long running campaign to improve their conditions. Great video though, you certainly packed a lot into your Mijas visit.

I think I am in love with this town. However if you don't want to own a car, how easy is it to get around to Benalmadena and the airport at Malaga on public transport

Same here….. we have been to another similar town(Frigiliana near Nerja) which was also very pretty but that was quiet a distance from Malaga and other places. Also Mijas pueblo in the mountains felt more homely due to facilities and layout. On Bus you can get to Fuengirola train station in under half an hour which will connect to Benalmadena and Malaga including the airport. Local bus fares are very reasonably priced and after hours a cab from Fuengirola should be around €20 give or take €5. Do check out our videos on Fuengirola(nearest town) and Nerja(another mountain village)

Absolutely, the whole Costa del Sol from Gibraltar to Malaga and then on other end in Nerja is filled with expats.
