I mean, the way she's talking about it, it's pretty clear that she's done what she can at Niji, she can't achieve the goals she wants where she is. And... well, there's a place that's good for making that sort of thing happen. I'm not one of those 'Oh, (big corpo) is retiring, does this mean (redacted)?' people, but... the last person I saw announce their graduation and talk a lot about the kind of things they wanted to do but couldn't do where they are... Well, we saw how that played out. That said, being sad is still valid. Even with the pattern established, the end of a persona can be a big deal. And, well, end of the day, not EVERYONE who announces a graduation is doing it because a better offer is on the table. At a certain tier of success, there's no "up" to go. Celebrate, buy your graduation merch, say your goodbyes, but... don't be mad if someone who sounds familiar shows up in February or March.

For anyone who wasn't there during the stream or hasn't watched the full vod: when Mika says that she had a long time to think about this decision and possibly even reconsider it, she really means it as in the stream she explained how she gave Niji her notice of resignation all the way at the start of this year which on a personal note was actually so shocking to me since I really didn't see any signs throughout this past year that Mika was gonna stop any time soon but it's also kinda comforting to know that this decision had well enough time to cook and if she was ever going to seriously reconsider, then she would've done it by now.

Literally one of my favorite streamers. I’ve been through Sana’s graduation, Rushia’s...uh, “graduation”, Coco’s, Taka’s, Nina’s, Melissa’s, Lulu’s, now Mika. For some reason, hearing Mika will graduate soon, is both painful to hear but also kinda not painful. I don’t know how to explain it. Maybe I’m just used to it by now, but hope for the best for her. Who knows, maybe she’ll be the 6th “reincarnated” VTuber to appear in the big VS. lol Even if she does, I’m still gonna miss her Niji model. Her design was always one of my favs. Might sound a bit extreme, but I kinda feel like I want to start trying to climb out of this rabbit hole, with most of my favorites graduating and most of the appeal wearing off after 3 years of watching Vtubers.

I was just thinking about Mika too, and I just got the news. While I am overall saddened, genuinely her content and uniqueness have been such a breath of fresh air in the VTubing space, I do wish the best for her! I would absolutely love to see her again through a different alias, but if she wants to move on, then it's completely valid and understandable as well, and I hope she gets to live her best life!

I feel this is gonna be a big blow to Hana. She's a fun streamer from former NijiID but it feels she's barely holding on to a company that really couldn't care any less even if it tried... It's sad that Mika will leave but I kinda feel that she will come back. I don't know why I feel so sure about it, even beyond seeing what happened with Mysta and Nina, but I do. Godspeed, Mika. NijiID (the talents) wanted to graduate all together but doing that will make for a bad reputation for niji, so they wanted to make them graduate in batches instead to lower the blow (the fact that most of the talents doesnt even bother to put effort to stream for the last few months is evident enough)

This is either the all of the ID livers want to get out, or the company wants to purge them all. 'suspecting'. It's not a suspicion. They're basically neglected after the merger. NijiID had the best local manager before the merger. And, unlike those black 'we're family' company, NijiID WAS truly a big family. They had a lot of plans and contents, they were pulling NORMIES from Indonesia, but nope, Anycolor sees that they had no big income (even though they were on GROWTH stage!) and just decided to cut them off altogether.

You know. Graduations kind of feel like when someone is diagnosed with a terminal disease and they only have a few months left to live. You know they're about to be gone from your life, you know these are the last moments you two will live together. Of course it's not a 1 to 1 comparison, as after graduation, she is still gonna be alive, she's gonna still maintain her social connexions with the people that personally know her, she's just gonna move on with her life. But the feeling among us ඞ viewers is somewhat comparable, as we don't have way of interacting with her other than her social media, and once she quits, we will lose our only way to interact with her. All I can say is to wish Mika the best of futures. We will miss her.

After Sana graduated, I’ve honestly become desensitized to vtubers graduating. I think people should realize it’s not like they’re dying or missing out on their biggest dream, they’re making this decision because it’s better for them and will make it easier to have a happy life. I think it should be celebrated rather than mourned. Mika’s self-awareness about her goals is a good sign that she’s ready to move on

There are some exceptions though. For example when it is caused by doxxing and harrassment. The most extreme case I heard of was Mano Aloe, who tried to end herself after graduating. So in her case it nearly would have been quite literally her death. Not just because of the graduation, but because of the situation with the doxxing and harrassment, amongst other things. Thankfully she survived the attempt and got her life on track by now. And there are also some cases where there's some real life trouble. I talked to a VTuber who became pretty much homeless during a hiatus, which was partly caused by her psychological state. I won't say who or why it happened, that was a private conversation. It's just an example of something truly bad happening. It might not have been a graduation in that case, but it could have been one. And less severe situations can also be sad due to losing "access" to the coworkers and complicating further interaction. So it always depends on the reason and situation. In the case of Mika I think it's pretty positive.
