She had reoccuring patulous eustachian tube before. From around 2010-2012, she's on hiatus for the supposed treatment. Then resuming activity in 2013, when its said she's getting better, which also the moment this song was released (composed and written by another musician, but given to and performed first by her). Possible she's barefoot to feel the rhythm, be in tune with the instruments, etc. Since there aren't any permanent solutions yet, some treatments exist only as methods to relieve it

Actually I had never pulled up the lyrics for this one, that was rather depressing, but with a ray of hope at the end, and her passionate singing was very well suiting the topic. Thank God I'm quite centered most of the time and don't feel like that, but I guess a lot of people can relate to this... And I do enjoy sad songs, even if I'm not sad myself, it seems emotional songs bring out more of an artist's core than just a happy tune...
