Socialism is an envy based system that punishes those who work hard, but there are issues with unchecked capitalism like the Cantillion Effect and predatory pricing (especially by monopolies) to bankrupt rivals so that the prices can raise due to lack of competition. There are remedies for these issues, most of which involve encouraging small businesses vs larger corps. The key difficulty is that some small companies will grow faster than others and eventually you'll get back to the old problems. We might very well doomed to a anacyclosis-type cycle.

Why do we have to have just one form of government? Australia is a capitalist country but has a more socialist style heathcare and employment benifits.

it's the average for measuring a student's grade. For example, having a 4.0 GPA basically means that an individual is getting all A's in every class. Typically, in college, having a 3.5 GPA or higher is seen as a mark for an excellent student. Doesn't necessarily mean the individual is intelligent however.
