Shiv can also get a fair amount of vertical height by chaining a downwards blast into immediately looking up to heavy melee. You can do it for as long as you want if you have the ammo and the timing right. It's a bit easier with fire rate items, but it's not needed. It's incredibly loud, impractical in 99% of cases, but if you mess of a ledge grab or just don't want to go on any ropes for whatever reason, you have the option.

The sad thing is you don't even need to do that bug in order to get up there like that... You can easily double jump into a heavy punch and get up there if you angle it right.
