No spoilers. Game Explanation: The 4 colors on the outside are attempting to gain control of the Core in the middle. The Colors each have the same mechanics, and the Core has a few of it's own. When a Colored cannon shot hits the core, it will add that color to the core (or if the core has a different color already, it will remove the other color). The first color to completely color the Core wins! Basic Setup: The core is made up of a center that is surrounded by tiles that start as colorless. On the outside of the core are Purple balls. The core and the balls rotate around in a circle. The Color Teams: These teams repeat two phases, a Crane Phase and a Release Phase. Crane Phase - 4 balls will bounce around inside the color-team's circle. When they hit the outer part of their circle, it will add to it's meter and reset the ball. Once the meter is full, the Crane will deploy, reach out to grab the Purple Balls surrounding the core. If at least 1 ball is grabbed, it will go into the Release Phase. If no balls are grabbed, it restarts the Crane phase. Release Phase - All purple balls will be released into a small pachinko board with 3 release options: Upgrade, +20, x2. Upgrade will upgrade the tier of the Purple Ball, which is denoted by how bright it is. +20 will add 20 to the value, and x2 will double the value. Once a Ball has made it to one of the release options, it will then go to one of the three cannons. The cannon it goes to is based on it's Tier (which increases based on the "upgrade" release option). They will add their value to their cannon, and will be released through the cannon before the cannon Fires, ready for the next crane to grab them. They retain their values and Tier and thus get stronger over time, providing a natural scaling element that will eventually end the game. Note: A Ball cannot exceed Tier 3. If it gets upgraded again, it just stays as Tier 3 and will be released by the Tier 3 Cannon. You can see it in the Red area at 8:03. The Cannons: Tier 1 Cannon - This fires two shots that are not aimed directly at the core. Each shot can hit 1 tile. Tier 2 Cannon - This fires a wide range of exploding shots that arc around the core. Each shot hits a tile and the ones around it. Tier 3 Cannon - This fires a piercing shot that is aimed directly at the core. Each shot will hit a tile, reduce the shot's value, and then continue to the core. Shots fired will run into any tiles that are not their color, changing that tile. The Core: The core has a defense mechanism. The white, bouncing squares can hit the center of the core, charging the Core's meter. When the meter is full, the Core will deploy 4 of its own Cranes. These cranes will pull in purple balls and the total count will charge the Core's cannon. The cannon will fire, and the meter will reset. Lastly, the direction of rotation will reverse after the Core has finished firing. The balls are released before the Cannon fires. Any shot by the Core's cannon is a simple shot. It changes the color of the tiles hit back to the original, colorless state. The Core has no win condition, it WILL eventually lose to one of the colors.

Could you consider using darker shades of green whenever yellow is also a primary contender? As a colorblind guy, it's pretty hard to see the difference between the two, especially when their territories are overlapping. Beyond that, great video! Another excellent video, with an interesting tweak on the concept of Core Destruction. A few little things do bug me, though: the general setup means a lot of the action is crammed into the sides of the screen, though that’s kind of unavoidable. For the core capturing, it could have been a little more readable as an increasing wedge instead of a growing circle (to make how close it is more clear), and with more of a border (since the yellow on white was barely visible when yellow was capturing). And the core attack was presumably meant to put something more interesting in screen center, but it seems more to distract from the real action, and it doesn’t really respond to the game state (how far capturing has gone, and in what direction). It could be interesting to have it work in a more responsive way. For example, core attacks could speed up in some way based on capture progress (like the core fires a shot in a random direction, it vanishes and adds attack gauge when it hits a colored block). And the attack could be based more on where there’s the most progress instead of the direction being randomized (such as having a circular wave expand outward from the core, fading when it erases enough blocks). And of course tweak the attack power to stop it from being unwinnable.

Very interesting concept! Things were tense but the concept of naturally rising stakes and even ability for counter plays really shone through. Would love to see the concept expanded some more =) Great work as usual, Mikan! _[Spoilers past this line!]_ I was rooting for Lime and I honestly feel like they were cheated of the victory, a bit? At one point they might have managed to get the Core if all their weapons didn't suddenly go haywire and kept on missing the actual objective. There were a couple very close calls as well with the way they defended against Yellow and even Blue at times (preventing Blue from actually getting the core for a good long while). I guess the couple of empty scoops were not a great play either...
