@ 💯 I’m from Chicago but got my first job after college in NY. That’s how I got into Mike and Chris. Even became to follow all the NY sports teams, even today. Lived there for 8 years. I still listen to every Francesa pod he does now.

Bob Sheppard is the greatest announcer in NY sports history. Francesca is a talk show host, though. Not the same thing. Mike and the Mad Dog are certainly the pioneers of sports talk radio, which has mostly transferred to podcasts.

I listened to Mike and the Maddog since 1989, I audio taped some of the shows they had guest. There's one in 1991 when they had Don King and Dan Duva on, it was one if the wildest shows.

They were spot on about the Yankees having had an easy path to the World Series and that it was a jump up once they got there. Any of the NL final four were better teams than anything the Yankees had faced.

@@jimwerther Agreed. I felt with the Dodgers' unending list of injured starters that San Diego was the most balanced team. They were up on the Dodgers 2-1 at home with Cease against a bullpen game and couldn't finish them off. The Dodgers have just put the pedal to the metal since then and even though my Mets got two off of them the Dodgers have felt like a runaway tractor trailer. I'm sure dispatching both New Yorks makes this eventual title even sweeter. Tip your cap...
