Great clip but I was kinda upset because this song along with a couple of more clips didnt make the DVD. But always remember this. For every musician you see, best to know there's always someone, somewhere...who's even better. If you can imagine, maybe. Don't get me wrong at all, Mike is a Master of his craft. Just makes some of us desire to practice, practice, practice. .The only way you get better over time. Styles change then change again and sometimes full circle. Only new thing are people. Quality pros keep pushing their limits and when you find one, work it out until perfected and almost thoughtless. It's like our fingers have...eyes. I close mine sometimes when I play and it takes you places special. So never quit, no matter what you hear someone else doing. That's them, their thing. Discover your thing and style and find an audience who follows every note. How it works. No fear, just determination. Listen again and "borrow" whatever licks but integrate them into a personal style. This is a good template with some of his nice fills. Interesting the variety of chords mixed with short runs and accents can turn a boring beat into something you hear one time but the ears enjoy. Church musician talkin here. I love listening to others play. Hope it's likewise as well.
