Listening to Michael Brecker is the essence of musical happiness. Life is good.

His fast precise technique is on the next level, clear phrasing at breakneck speed, but the real joy is this Brecker (tenor) sound. Like all of you, I just can't get enough. Too much Michael Brecker is not enough.

Having owned the Japanese CD import for many years, I was completely blown by the music, but underwhelmed with the sound quality. When I viewed this video for the first time, it delivered tears of joy...I was literally crying; the poor quality didn't matter. This is it, right here...music at its finest. Tune in to your local radio station and you'll hear nothing like it...Emotionless noise sans actual musicians. It'll never be the same.

Absolutely stunning performances by Michael Brecker on EWI and Mike Stern on guitar and the whole band.

Thank you so much for the upload! I was at this concert - as a 10 year old boy. The line up at this festival was incredible. I never felt this much energy and intensity at a music festival again. Mike Stern played on sunday evening, after many hours of incredibly live performances. I still remember this tune - after 27 years. And today I found this video. Thanks you for the video! And thanks to my parents to take me to the Jazz Fest Wiesen!

The greatest music I've ever heard. I was at a concert somewhere in the late eighties in a Drum Jazz Festival tent that was rather to small and well packed and then he told us to all sit down for the concert. We could hardly stand, let alone sit but it work out and I left that concert with a very special feeling. Like everyone there had become family somehow. I'm grateful for his music and in hindsight, I feel privileged having been there. People who can give like that are very special. The memory will last.

Fantastic "presentation" of the new EWI in that era, but this is my all time favorite Brecker Tenor solo ever...(After the piano solo at the end). This guy inspired me so much!

Whats the name of the CD?
@ewi400010 жыл бұрын
The CD was a bootleg. Released on the Jazz Door label. The artists did not receive any money for it. Title of the CD was Michael Brecker Band Live.
Too bad they didn't cut to Mike's reaction at the end of the guitar solo like they did in the Newport video...had to be priceless!!! All that footwork with the pedals though... wow
