Tom Petty and The Heartbreakers...the whole is so much greater than it's individual parts.... that's why they were so incredible, so classically great....a once in a lifetime happening! Tom was that gravitational force that brought the best of them together....and he will be forever.... FOREVER missed! A treasure that was...........😢😢😢 I miss you Tom.

This interview is particularly amazing for one thing easily overlooked: Mike Campbell is so present, here, so engaged, and so unprepossessingly authentic in his every thought and response. In this era, his level of fame and established "cred" is so rare, and so hard to come by, yet he isn't (disfiguringly) strategizing or even thinking twice about any of his responses. You can see his thinking on his face. He isn't hiding it. We live now in an era where the coalescence of all those things is so scarce, and maybe even not really possible. A musician (artist) who is already in a pantheon (whether he sees it that way or not) sees his best mode of being as "just be me, authentically" when interviewed by a person not necessarily on the same page. This is a moment in history. It's so cool, and maybe less pedestrian than most would ever think to notice.

Heartbreakers were one of those bands that just stays in one's head. Their songs still work, even the ones from the 70's and 80's.

Petty is the current era's Cole Porter - writing with great insight on songs about daily life in every sphere. He has refined the craft and raised his own game. The man had courage as well as curiosity and he lived by what he believed. Music is the worst industry for honourable behaviour, but it's why Tom Petty prevailed.

What a fantastic Thanksgiving surprise! After I first listened to this, and then began listening to the album, I was ashamed of myself for not having heard it. But now that I have, I feel nothing but thankful, and excited to be hearing this album for the first time!!! This interview was so intriguing, that I had to check out the album being discussed, and WOW is just not a big enough word! Thank you, from a 70-yr-old Hippie and TP&TH Fan!

Have to be the mean guy here. It almost seems like Mike doesn't feel like answering the questions. Maybe a bad day. It seems like Mike doesn't feel like being there. Just my take on the video. It's his eyes. Just keeps looking down, and blinking.

>>>Sam Jones! It’s just a lot of asking questions that sound like they’ve been written down in advance rather than meeting the interviewee where they’re at. No organic flow. Although TP is my fav band I’d all time and MIke C original since Mudcrutch Gainesville FL - there was as no taping on here. Failed interview.

Do better man. This was scripted questions. Not a conversation. Lost it’s depth. Sam - connect time people more!
