@@stuartkmusic There are plenty of releases post 2011 mainly in futureworld, TWR & Klubbed Up, he's last release was in 2016 if I'm not mistaken. for example: Re-Con & Hixxy - Superhuman [FutureWorld]

Loving these videos. Hardcore/Happy Hardcore had a profound impact on the UK rave scene and led to many offshoots of different styles and artists but the most profound impact of all was societal and cultural. People from all walks of life brought together as one for the love of the music and the love of the rave.

Mike not only made remakes of old hardcore, he also created an entire genre of music "Scouse House" with BCD records, he first started with his alias One Long Sausage before Ultrabeat.

Thanks Syntax. I think for me, Mike would have filled quite a lot of holes around the Re-Con alias. There so much about Ultrabeat and Camelphat yet the Hardcore side very under represented. I can’t moan too much about Mike not getting back to me as we’ve had it quite good lately with people pitching in. There was always going to be some who were too busy to chat. In the meantime, I’ll settle for your kind words. Here’s to the next year 👍

I believe that Twista Records was actually founded in 2008, but no releases were under the label until 2009. Squad-E's remix of Tricky Disco got an early release in 2008 on 'HTID: Re-Con & Squad-E's Mixes', but got a full release on Twista in 2009.

Re-Con was always one of the best producers to grace the hardcore scene. Was always destined for bigger things but even as his career in other genres was taking off massively and he was producing pop tracks for Ne-Yo he still made some hardcore tracks and DJ’d regularly as Re-Con. Last I heard of him in the U.K. hardcore scene was around 2016 I think and the scene was more or less dead on its arse anyway. He was a hardcore purist and I remember the variation in his productions especially in the earlier days. He also had a couple of DJ sets for some of the older Ruffneck Gabba tunes due to his collection. Was always a really sound guy with plenty time to talk when you seen him at raves. Shame he didn’t get back to your messages but I guess he’s moved on fully now and one of the top producers in the world.

Didn't know he was Clear Vu as well. He's had a massive influence on a lot of the music I grew up listening to and has got to be one of my all time favourite producers. Which is funny really cause I'm not really a fan of the music he's most famous for. Glad he made it big in the end though he deserves it.

Australian Hard House up to 2003/4 was essentially a harder version of house and early hard house music from 1997 ish, albeit with a touch of donk that filtered into it slowly. My understanding of scouse house or bounce in England was a slighlty faster version of Australian hard house perhaps a version that came later hence why I respect and even agree on your opinion on how scouse house was influenced by happy hardcore as it was very different to old school hard house. I am aware Poland and Amsterdam also had very similar old school hard house scene and music scene to Sydney while all the hard house music i listen to from England is always played faster and mixed in shorter duration with Sydney having long mixing sections and uplifting trancy lifts with the hard house beats. In saying this, I also do see mild similarities of the general sounds from Aussie hard house from ultrasonic but only mildly which I again see why you compare scouse house with happy hardcore. It could even be said many of the tracks overlapped even with trance it just depended on how the DJ played it but Aussie hard house was at 137 BPM and maybe 141BPM sped up at the most maybe at 5pm in the morning 143BPM. Personally, what the donk developed into after around 2004 ruined old school hard house but I suppose I just have to accept it at a different genre.

Fantastic information there @Trdat. Whenever I play classic hard house, I’m normally hovering around 150bpm but then, I always did get told off for playing it too fast so maybe I was in the wrong 😆
@Trdat
@Trdat Жыл бұрын
In saying that there was a club called Rogues that did play hard house closer to 150bpm with faster mixing in between, while DCM the most famous Sydney club played it slower and more uplifting. On a side note, both the early Hard Houses scene and Hard trance scenes were epic in Australia, I see although your channel is about Hardcore there are interesting snippets about House and Hard House. Did the UK have a hard trance scene at all?@@stuartkmusic
@stuartkmusic
@stuartkmusic Жыл бұрын
@Trdat I think there is still a pretty decent Hard Trance scene over here although I haven’t go a looking for it myself as such. I did start this to focus on Hardcore but as I’ve gotten into it, I’ve found that these guys have branched out and been very successful in some cases and it would be a shame not to highlight their achievements across the board. I will admit, thought I was going to get crucified over the Stu Allan video as that became more a look into his time as the pop/dance act Clock 😆

Apologise for side tracking with house, I am an avid Hardcore fan just was too young for the scene in Australia but remember all the artists so your videos are fascinating and I am also very interested by a a number of music scenes around the world one being the UK hardcore scene. There is always overlapping genres so all good about discussing other music achievements, we wont bite about the pop. Lol!! I used to listen to Spice Girls what can I say. @@stuartkmusic

To be honest, probably never should of did a show on him, as you said "never even replied to you" and he certainly wasn't a "legend " of the scene, he was a money grabber who ruined hardcore tunes with his ultrabeat shite and realised he could make a few quid making the odd hardcore tune, (getting in with hixxy & styles etc)
