Biker Blues - We rose in the dawn's grey streaked light to a mountain chill bikers know so well - the morning dew not yet dry. We pack our few items in the saddle bags in silent anticipation of the morning ride - she brushes her hair as I warm some coffee on the still glowing embers of the nights fire. Sitting in silence - listening to the mountain wake up around us we sip our coffee and think of the ride - content in the anticipation. Looking in her eyes I rise throwing out the last dregs of coffee, grab my jacket with a simple, quiet "Lets go" - she smiles and rises. We both plug in our ear buds and as I pull out onto the Cherahola Skyway she settles in against my back wrapping her arms around - pushes her hands under my coat - I can feel her warmth spread across my back pushing away the chill morning air. I hit play - this tune fills our ears just as the sun begins to paint the clouds an upside down rainbow sea - her chin settles on my shoulder with an easy comfort and the long sweeping curves of the Skyway begin to fall away beneath us. Sun on my face - her warmth on my back - lost in the sunrise, the miles fall away and the music inspires....
